Computer: A computer is a needed resource for online writing. The computer should have a word processor and a medium to fast internet connection speed. You should have a keyboard that you can write with comfortably for a long time. If you want to include your published works inside your portfolio, connect a printer to your computer.
Notebook: You will need a place to jot down article ideas, passwords, website URLs, and write articles when you do not have access to a computer. The notebook should be college ruled or wide ruled whatever you are comfortable with. Your notebook does not have to be neat or good looking. Only you will use it so it can be as organized as you want it to be.
Portfolio: A portfolio is a folder or binder to keep your articles in. All articles should be printed and complete. Only include your best work; your portfolio shows your employer your capabilities. You can also have an online portfolio as a back up. An online portfolio cannot be ripped or get dirty.

Your Paypal password should be something only you can remember and you should not tell anyone your password.
Social networking account: Social networks attract a lot of visitors that you can communicate and socialize with. There are many magazine publishers and editors on many social networking sites. After you get acquainted with a magazine editor, you can easily e-mail him or her, your article and receive feedback and publishing offers from them.
Writing utensils: We might live in a technologically advance world but old fashioned pens and pencils are still very much in style. It is a great idea to have a set of sharpened pencils and pens to write with.
There are countless other tools that can also support you to become an online writer. Some writers like to use tools that fit their writing style. Whatever tools you use, make sure to keep them safe and away from dirty areas.
