Top 10 2009 Country Songs

Here is a list of my ten favorite country songs of 2009.

10. Alright - Darius Rucker - Mr. Rucker says the simple things in life are "alright" by him. This old fool doesn't need expensive champagne, fancy restaurants, or luxury vacations.

9. Hillbilly Bone - Blake Shelton featuring Trace Adkins - This song is extremely funny all by itself, but it's down right hilarious when you watch the video that was made for this song. According to the writer of this song, everybody, no matter how rich and snobby they are, have a "hillbilly bone" inside of them.

8. I Run To You - Lady Antebellum - Very catchy tune here. The lyrics ring true enough, because when there is so much negative stuff going on around us, there is at least one person that we love very much whom we can turn to and be ourselves around and that person won't judge us.

7. People Are Crazy - Billy Currington - An old man strikes up a conversation at a bar with another man whose just a "Regular Joe" and they talk the night away about anything and everything while nursing their beers. Sometime later, the younger man opens his morning newspaper and finds a picture of the old man in the obituary section. Turns out the old man died a millionaire and left his entire fortune to the man from the bar, which made his kids mad as hornets.

6. Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band - In the materialistic world we live in, there are some people out there that just don't care if the price of the clothes on their back didn't break the bank. They also don't car about the fact that their car isn't the fanciest in the world.

5. Consider Me Gone - Reba McEntire - When one woman's relationship seems to have fizzled out and died, she decides that if her man doesn't want to acknowledge that something is wrong between him, he can just consider her gone.

4. Summer Nights - Rascal Flatts - Boy did we need a good summer fun song, and Rascal Flatts delivered it beautifully. So fill your cooler with the cold stuff, grab a group of friends and head to the beach.

3. Fifteen - Taylor Swift - Very touching song that let's you know how a fifteen year old girl really feels when she's starting her freshman year in a brand new high school and experiences new friendships and relationships.

2. Cowboy Casanova - Carrie Underwood - Every woman or girl longs to be with a "bad boy", Carrie is trying to warn them that a relationship with that kind of man is only going to cause her more headaches and heartbreak than it's worth. This song is so good that it made it on the MTV and VH1 music countdowns.

1. You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift - It's always a little awkward when you fall in love with your guy best friend. When you do you're desperately hoping that he will see that he belongs with you and not his shallow, cheer leading captain girlfriend. How could I not have this song as number one on a top ten country countdown? This song even won her a Video Music Award from MTV.
