10. Aaron Rodgers - Quarterback, Green Bay Packers
Take it from me. I had Rodgers on my team last year and he was the most consistent performer among QBs. Not only will he put up the passing numbers, but he will inevitably run for a few scores as well. The Packers are primed for a run and Rodgers has all the weapons to have a monster year.
9. Miles Austin - Wide Receiver, Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys drafted Dez Bryant in the first round to take some of the pressure off of Austin. A lot of pundits are primed for a down turn on Austin's part, but they don't have any idea as to the power of the Kardashian allure! And not to mention Tony Romo has finally moved on from that travesty Jessica Simpson. The "Boys" have love on their side and you can't compete with that!
8. DeSean Jackson - Wide Receiver, Philadelphia Eagles
Jackson is a big play machine. He is capable of breaking a 50 yard scoring play at any moment which is fantasy points gold. Kevin Kolb and his rocket arm replaces old man McNabb so look for Jackson to finally get some balls thrown to him in stride and not woefully underthrown. Not to mention that Jackson returns punts as well giving him even more opportunity to take it to the house.
7. Ryan Grant - Running Back, Green Bay Packers
Grant is going to be a part of the juggernaut offense up in Green Bay. Any team that looks primed to score 40 points every time they step on the field is a team you want to lock up any of the big time performers. Grant has been one of the most consistent backs over the last few years (read: healthy) so look for him to get in on the scoring smorgasbord early and often.
6. Andre Johnson - Wide Receiver, Houston Texans
Andre Johnson is a beast of a man. He will score touchdowns and stomp on your throat in the process. With gunslinger Matt Schaub throwing him the ball 20 times a game, you can be certain that Johnson will get the touches he needs to be a fantasy star. Pass on him at your own peril because he may show up at your door and cleat you in the chest for doubting him.
5. Stephen Jackson - Running Back, St. Louis Rams
I met a guy at the bar the other day whose sister was dating Jackson. He said that Jackson will have a monster year. Anyone who has a sibling who is sleeping with said player should have the inside dirt on whether or not said player is going to perform. Never doubt the power of sex. Also it helps that the Rams now have a quarterback with an arm made out of something other than pipe cleaner. Look for Sam Bradford to take some of the pressure off of Jackson.
4. Ray Rice - Running Back, Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are primed for a Super Bowl run. Take it from me, a Patriots fan. I got first look at Rice run roughshod over my helpless Pats last playoffs. Rice has always been told he is too small to be a star. But guess what. He scores and scores and scores. In high school, college and now the pros. The guy is a scoring machine. If you pass on him he will no doubt put up 40 points against you the first time you play him.
3. Maurice Jones-Drew - Running Back, Jacksonville Jaguars
MoJo is a bowling ball. Have you ever tried to catch a 200+ pound bowling ball coming at you at full speed? It's not easy. Shawne Merriman can attest to that. I like my chances with a guy who isn't afraid of taking on the biggest guys on the other team. Although if he pulls another "knee at the one yard line" stunt again he might have a MoJo mutiny on his hands. The points he puts up will be worth the risk.
2. Adrian Peterson - Running Back, Minnesota Vikings
Adrian Peterson is coming into the prime of his career. The guy is built like a Ford F-150. He wants to truck everything in his path (pun intended). Although he does have a case of fumblitis, he is more than likely going to put up 200 yards and 3 TDs at least a few times during the year. Any time you can take a guy who has essentially a negative % body fat you do it. But of course you'll need the 2nd pick to do it!
1. Chris Johnson - Running Back, Tennessee Titans
Chris Johnson is fast. His fantasy season last year was one of the most memorable in the history of fantasy. Believe me, he singlehandedly beat my own team a few times last year. Although it will be tough for him to repeat last year's performance, the guy is an absolute running machine. He was put on this earth to run the football and is going to get in the end zone one way other another. You'd have to be mental to pass him up with the first pick.
