You are having a New Year's Eve party and you're not sure what songs to play? Well, you could do the traditional Auld Lang Syn but everyone is doing it. This is a list of other ideas for songs that you can play to impress your friends at your New Year's Eve party.

10. 1999 by Prince. That is, if you plan on partying like it really is 1999. No sense in playing the song if you don't plan on doing what it says. Others may play that song also, but your party promises to be great and it is most fitting for your party.

9. It Was a Very Good Year by Frank Sinatra. As you are moving into the New Year, you may want to remind your friends of the great year that they just had. Play this song right before the clock strikes 12 for an emotional moment. Then, really get the party started.

8. Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. This is an extremely pure, heartfelt song. Your friends would love it and appreciate it even if they have never heard it before. It is a perfect song for couples to dance to. If you are having a formal party, it is an excellent choice.

7. Celebration by Kool & the Gang. This is the perfect song to start of your New Year's celebration. Go ahead and celebrate the great times of the past and the great times to come. This is a more upbeat song that many may already be familiar with.

6. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. Everyone is going to expect you to play a Michael Jackson song so I guess there is really no need to disappoint them. Play Billie Jean in remembrance of the late star who will not be able to enter the New Year.

5. Let's Get it Started by Black Eye Peas. This is another upbeat, classic song. It is also another awesome choice to start of your New Year's celebration. Once you have everyone up and having a great time, there is no stopping the party.

4. Change by Taylor Swift. This new and young artist is topping the charts with her great singles. Change may be about competing and winning but it is a great song to get your groove on to at your New Year's Eve party.

3. Slow Dance by Keri Hilson. Keri is a song writer gone performer who recently received the Soul Train Award for Best New Artist. Your guests will enjoy slow dancing to this song as they remember the good times they have had with their loved ones.

2. ABC by the Jackson Five. This is another of Michael Jackson's hits. One when he was young and singing with his boy band that included his male siblings. It is a fun song which has lived on for generations and will continue to live on.

1. Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy. Parties are all about dancing and celebrating right? This is a great song to party to as you bring in the New Year.

I hope you have an awesome New Year's Eve party that your friends can talk about for a very long time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
