Top 10 Bible Verses I'd Like to See in a Mother's Day Card

Finding good inspirational verses for Mother's day can be a bit of a task. As a mother I am going to give you and inside on what I would like. Here are ten verses I have found as a mother that would encourage me and I would like to see on a mother's day card. I have chosen to do single verses to make it easier. Whole sections such as Proverbs 31 are great sections for obtaining scripture to honor mom also.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

I have found this verse to be a good all around one for encouragement. This comes from a Section in Isaiah where he is encouraging Israel. I find it encouraging as I can relate as a mother to being tired and worn out. God will give us fresh wind for our wings.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Proverbs 31:28

This particular verse is in the "Proverbs woman" passage of Proverbs 31. This Godly woman does quite a bit and there are a lot of positive scriptures here to encourage mom. This is also a good one if you are giving mom a group card.

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:29

Another scripture from Proverbs 31. This one reflects gratitude toward service and nobility. I think it also is a high praise of character.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on hertongue. Proverbs 31:26

This passage reflects upon intelligence and knowledge she can impart to others. Mothers may feel they are not recognized for this as much as they would like to be and this verse can convey that.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

If your mother is going thru a hard time this verse may encourage her. Many of times we get caught up in the day to day things and think the whole world is falling in on us. Sometimes we need to look back and see God is for us not against us.

Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Psalm 112:4

Integrity is a quality you cannot buy and cannot get back if lost. This kind of complement to your mother is a great honor.

May your father and mother be glad; may she who gave you birth rejoice! Proverbs 23:25

This verse can be used to let your mother know you are as proud of her as she is of you.

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem." Isaiah 66:13

I think we all think of comfort when we think of our mothers. Let her know with this verse what a comfort she is to you.

Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51

This verse kind of stuck out at me as one that Mothers can relate to about how kids act. This passage is referring to An obedient Jesus. Notice how she treasures his wisdom but I think she is also impressed about his obedience. He honored his mother by obeying her. As a mother this verse impressed me and can be used to express how you would like to be to her as her child.

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. Psalm 31:24

This last verse is a verse of hope. We all need hope from time to time and hope in the Lord is the best hope you can have. This is another verse I find encouraging as a mother.
