Top 10 Children's Books

Some of my fondest memories from childhood are the books that I used to read on a nightly basis. Now that I have my own children, I am rediscovering some other books that I had long forgotten about. I have found that my taste in children's books has changed as I've become older. I thought I would share my top-ten children's books with you, in case you need a little inspiration in picking out the next book to read to your youngsters.

10- Redwall Series, written by Brian Jaques
This series is more for your older children, but it would be a great series to read with your child and it would become a great tradition as it would take a long time to read the whole series.

9- One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, written by Dr. Suess
Just another one of his great books. Great for any age.

8- Curious George Series, written by H.A. Rey
Another classic series of books. Buy as many as you can and make it a tradition to read to them to your child. These are great for any age.

7- Green Eggs and Ham, written by Dr.Suess
This book is great for all ages. It is just another one of Dr. Suess' must read books.

6- You Are Special, written by Max Lucado
A great book for kids who are starting to understand God. This book helps them realize that they are special to him and that's all that really matters.

5- Harry the Dirty Dog, written by Gene Zion
This book is not well known, but it is one of my personal favorites. This is appropriate for all ages.

4- Oh the Places You'll Go, written by Dr. Suess
This book is great to read to kids of all ages. I would definitely recommend to start it as soon as you start reading to your kids. Its message is that they can make a big difference in life if they just put their mind to it.

3- Goodnight, My Angel: A Lullabye, written by Billy Joel
This book comes with a cd of Billy Joel's song. The words are the exact same as the song, and the pictures help to make to it a special book to read to your children. This book is great for any age.

2- The Cat in the Hat, written by Dr. Suess
I love the way he uses rhyme in his stories. The books just flow very naturally and are fun and easy to read. This is one of the most classis Suess books. This book is good for any age.

1- Walt Disney Fun to Learn Series
These were my favorite books growing up. They are great for children of all ages, especially for those learning numbers, letters and shapes.
