Top 10 Christmas Movies

Push Play and Watch Some Movies This Christmas!

Shannon Jacobyansky
Wow! It's that time of year all ready when we blow the dust off our favorite Christmas movies and push the play button. My top 10 Christmas movies range from animated classics to the old traditional black and white 1950's movies that have been modernized with color.

My list starts with one of my children's favorite Christmas movie, "Christmas with Gumby"! This animated funny Christmas movie can be found on Amazon for as little as $5.98.

Who doesn't like "A Charlie Brown Christmas"! Catch my favorite part of this Christmas movie on You Tube when Linus tells everyone the true meaning of Christmas.

My family loves dogs so it is no surprise that we enjoy, "Olive the Other Reindeer". This best Christmas movie ever is based on the book with the same title by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh which portrays a dog, Olive, who becomes one of Santa's reindeer's.

Be sure and pick up this year on DVD, "Shrek the Halls" which is sure to become one of the best Christmas movies ever! My family and I laughed hilariously as we watched this one together.

You're the more sentimental type...then watch this flick, "White Christmas" a 1954 classic featuring Bing Crosby singing and Danny Kaye dancing. This Christmas movie favorite features songs written by Irving Berlin including the classic song, "White Christmas".

Also on my top 10 Christmas movies are some of the greatest motion pictures of all time. "A Wonderful Life" was nominated for five Oscars, but didn't win any, but is considered one of the best films ever by the American Film institute. If you've not seen it you've got to watch it this year. "A Christmas Story" is a funny Christmas movie about a boy who wants a BB gun for Christmas and how he needs to see Santa to ask for the toy.

Rounding of my top 10 favorite Christmas movies are my final three picks starting with the "Polar Express" which depicts an enchanting train ride of a lifetime for little children with big dreams. "The Year without a Santa Clause" features Mr. Heat Miser and the year Santa decided to take a vacation from Christmas. Lastly, "The Happy Elf" remains one of my children's favorite animated Christmas movies the last couple of years.

So sit back, push play, and have a jolly joyful season of merriment watching some great movies!
