2. A Christmas Story (1983) -All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red RyderBB gun. Will he get it and if he does, will he shoot his eye out? A fun movie with many memorable scenes.
3. White Christmas (1954) - Musicians bring Irving Berlin's lyrics to Vermont lodge. Stars Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as two lovable guys who fall in love with sisters played by Rosemary Clooney and Betty Haynes. Great music and puts you right into the holiday spirit.
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1947) - Macy's Santa, with help from the U.S. Postal Service, restores a little girl's faith in Christmas and Santa Claus and dreams. This was remade for television in 1955, 1959 and 1973. Natalie Wood stars in this telling tale.
5. The Grinch (2000) -Jim Carrey stars as the furry green creature who wants to ruin the holidays. It seems his heart was broken and he has become a mean one, Mr. Grinch. Silly, crazy and fun. Adapted from the cartoon classic.
6. A Christmas Carol also known as Scrooge (1951) - Charles Dickens' ghostly meditation on the holiday. This version of the story, has Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge and is regarded the best. The original was made in 1938 and remade countless times since then. It's good, but scary for little ones.
7. The Santa Clause (1994) - When Santa falls off his roof, a harried ad executive, played by Tim Allen, unknowingly is required to assume the mantle. Only how does he tell his son? Lots of laughs with a great story line. Several sequels were also made.
8. Home Alone (1990) - Kevin, played by McCauley Caulkin, accidentally gets left behind during Christmas break and defends his house against robbers. This movie led to several sequels, but the original is by far the best. Great for all ages.
9. Holiday Inn (1942 film) - Musicians, Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire prepare for a white Christmas at a cozy lodge. The two vie for the affections of a beautiful up-and-coming performer. Great music and full of fun comedic scenes.
10. Scrooged (1988) - The modern interpretation of Dickens' story, with holiday spirits visiting a cynical TV executive. This stars Bill Murray. This really works with a new twist. A bit zany, but a great version of A Christmas Carol that is a classic all on its own.
