10 Seasonal Christmas Shows in Branson, Missouri

The shows in Branson, Missouri, delight young and old. From seeing tigers, magic, or country singers, the large variety of family shows might surprise someone unfamiliar with Branson. This entertainment is not exclusive to summer travel. The city also hosts Christmas shows during the holiday season, giving itself the tradition of an "Ozark Mountain Christmas." This article shares some of the more famous Christmas shows held in Branson, Missouri. Each performance's website is linked below for you to see whether the show is available during a particular holiday season.

Andy Williams Christmas During the 1950s and 1960s, Andy Williams was famous for his Tonight Show appearances and his own TV variety shows. In 1992 he built the Blue Moon Theatre in Branson, where he now hosts his own Christmas show.

Broadway! Spirit of Christmas This performance brings New York City's Broadway to the Ozarks. From colorful stage sets to dazzling costumes, this show brings singers, high-stepping kick lines, and other dancers with all the pizazz of Broadway. The Christmas theme is truly evident in this show as they sing and perform to all sorts of Christmas carols. The Broadway! Spirit of Christmas show is located at the Branson Variety Theater.

Shoji Tabuchi Christmas Show The Shoji Tabuchi shows in Branson are widely known for their fabulous violin playing, harmonics, and choreography. All the band members have a degree in music, and the choreography is run by Mr. Tabuchi's wife, Dorothy. His Christmas show features a variety of Christmas themed music with the same intensity of his traditional show. It is located at the Shoji Tabuchi Theatre.

Tony Orlando and Lennon Sisters Christmas Tony Orlando was the singer of the famous song, "Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Ole Oak Tree", and the Lennon Sisters became famous on the Lawrence Welk Show in the 1950s. In 2008 they joined up for a Christmas performance in Branson and have returned due to popular demand. Their show takes place at the Welk Resort Theatre.

Baldknobbers Jamboree Christmas Show The Baldknobbers show includes country, gospel, and comedy in a jamboree style performance. Their Christmas show includes traditional performances for the first half and comedy set in Christmas themes during the second half. It is located at the Baldknobbers Country Music Theatre.

SIX Christmas Show Six real brothers, the Knudson brothers, form the group called "SIX." This group performs incredible vocal harmonies that surprise their audience members with a high energy performance. They put together a special selection of songs to celebrate Christmas. They perform at the Hughes Brothers Celebrity Theatre.

Christmas at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede This dinner and theatre show features live performers interacting with various animals, including ostriches, steer, horses, and more. The dinner is traditional fare and offers a vegetarian meal if requested. A live nativity is also set up for guests to enjoy.

Hamner Barber's The Wings of Christmas Dave and Denise Hamner are illusionists who merge their abilities with a ventriloquist named Jim Barber to put on a unique show. The first half of their Christmas show is more traditional, while the second half includes dance and comedic numbers set to holiday music. This performance takes place at the Hamner Barber Theater.

Hughes Brothers Christmas Show This group features choreographed dance along with gospel, country, and Broadway hits. This is a large variety show including great vocals, a young yodeler, and instrumentals. In addition, the Christmas show includes Christmas cookies, Santa, and a nativity. The Hughes Brothers perform at the Hughes Brothers Celebrity Theatre.

Kirby VanBurch Magical Christmas Show A magic or illusion show truly captures the Christmas spirit at Kirby VanBurch's Magical Christmas Show. His act includes exotic animals, including a white Bengal tiger, and is set in a magical, fairytale toy shop where elves discover the true meaning of Christmas. The magic happens at the Kirby VanBurch Theatre.

As the holiday season brings out the Christmas spirit in many people. Those who either live near Branson or visit Branson have the benefit of the aforementioned Christmas shows to celebrate a true "Ozark Mountain Christmas."
