Top 10 Christmas Songs Gone Country

C Tripp
There are many great Christmas songs, and, as far as I'm concerned, a majority of these great songs are country songs. So here's to country, and my top ten list (in no particular order) of country Christmas songs.

Christmas Must Be Something More by Taylor Swift

The lyrics to this song go way beyond just the surface of the meaning of Christmas, and far surpass other Christmas songs in this department. Taylor's signature feel and emotion are, of course, present in this song. And the light melody ties it all together, and tahdah! A perfect Christmas song is born.

Christmases When You Were Mine by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift does it again! This touching song is sure to nuzzle its way into that special place in your heart. This song is the classic life story that is so easy for so many to relate to. And, once again, Taylor floods the song with emotion, making it an irresistible Christmas song sure to become a favorite.

Mary Did You Know by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd

I've always been a sucker for this song and to hear it performed as a duet is refreshing and unique. It was a nice rendition of the classic song.

The Angels Cried by Alan Jackson and Allison Krauss

At first I didn't realize that this was a Christmas song, but as soon as I did I fell in love with it even more. Alan Jackson and Allison Krauss have pulled off a dashing Christmas song that tells the story of baby Jesus without seeming too overly religious.

My Grown Up Christmas List by Amy Grant

This song is such a great song, as it shows the bigger picture of what Christmas should be about and talks about things such as world peace. This song reminds us all not to forget about others and those that are less fortunate than us.

Silent Night by Martina McBride

Martina McBride has consistently performed above the bar with her music exceeding my expectations. I particularly love Concrete Angel. Even in her Christmas music, she really turned it up and produced a great version of a classic song.

Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley and Martina McBride

With Martina added it adds the perfect touch to an already great song. Great moving lyrics combined with two great voices makes for one amazing song.

Frosty the Snowman by Willie Nelson

This one is such a great song for kids; I had to throw it in there. And, as always, it's a great adult favorite too!

Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton

This song is such a great pick-me-up song. I say this because even though she's upset, she won't let it bring her down, especially around Christmas. Great song.

I Only Want You for Christmas by Alan Jackson

The last song on my list is this romantic one by Alan Jackson. Anyone looking for a good romantic Christmas song, look no further!

Maybe you've never heard a country Christmas song, but hopefully after hearing a few of these, you'll be hooked.

Good picks! I remember My Grown-Up Christmas List from when I was much younger. :)
