Top 10 Disney Video Games of All-Time

One of the most anticipated games of 2010 was Epic Mickey for the Nintendo Wii. Despite Disney being one of the most powerful companies in the film industry, the Disney games have not been so hot in the video game department. That is why many Mickey fanatics were excited about Epic Mickey. The library of Disney games might not be stellar but there have been a few standout games over the years.

10) Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers
There are some video gamers that will swear Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers deserves to be in at least the top three. Perhaps the fact that I never enjoyed the show is clouding my judgment on the video game as well. Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers was created by Capcom and several of their games used Mega Man engines. Unfortunately this game just seemed like a Mega Man knock off.

9) Gargoyles
Gargoyles is an underrated Disney cartoon and it produced a very underrated video game for the Sega Genesis. The player must control the Gargoyles' leader, Goliath, as he fights against the Vikings.

8) World of Illusion
The World of Illusion stars Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Throughout the game Mickey and Donald can earn magic spells to help venture through the World of Illusion. These magic spells included a magic carpet, an underwater bubble, magic box transportation and "card control".

7) Quackshot
Quackshot was also part of the series of Disney games that was created for the Sega Genesis. In Quackshot the player could control Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie as they hunted for buried treasure.

6) Darkwing Duck
Like Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers earlier, Darkwing Duck was created with a Mega Man engine. Darkwing Duck did not seem like a knock off though and instead felt like a great adaptation of the television show.

5) The Lion King
Considering video game adaptations of movies and television get a horrible rap it is surprising that the best Disney movie of all-time (in my opinion) had a video game that didn't completely suck. Roaming through the forest as Simba was fun and the graphics, sound effects and voices were great for a video game of that time.

4) Epic Mickey
Epic Mickey seemed to disappoint a lot of gamers but don't confuse disappointment with bad. Epic Mickey was still a very good Disney video game it just wasn't a game of the year candidate like many of the Disney fans were hoping.

3) Aladdin
Aladdin is one of the best video games of all-time at capturing exact scenes from a movie and re-living them in a video game. Aladdin even features a level where Aladdin and Jasmine ride on the magic carpet and they even managed to get "A Whole New World" in the game.

2) Ducktales
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers probably lost points because I'm not a fan of the show and Ducktales probably benefited from the fact that I loved the show. Ducktales had a great cast of guest appearances and plenty of villains to choose from as well. The music is excellent, the game is fun and Scrooge McDuck and his cane are badass.

1) Kingdom Hearts
Was there really any doubt? This Disney mash-up has just about every Disney character you could ever want in every Disney land you can think of. Mixing Disney with an action RPG seemed like a horrible idea because the characters would be too cute and cartoonish but it turns out that Donald Duck and Goofy can be pretty badass when they want to.
