Top 10 DVD's of 2006

2006 was a great year in DVD releases. As we take a look back to 2006 and the wonderful DVD's it had to offer us, the viewers, maybe you'll find some of your favorites on the list. According to various magazines including Rolling Stone the top DVD's are as follows:

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 10

A Scanner Darkly - this was a great show of computer animation over the actor's scenes... a really interesting movie with many unique attributes. Keanu Reeves stars in this film and has gotten quite a bit of exposure from the unusual design of the DVD.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 9

V for Vendetta- A sick and twisted plot that surrounds the "what ifs" of politics and the "could happens" of the fears that are harbored by both political parties. If you like this kind of film than this is the DVD for you. Many consider it a "must see" because they believe that it 'could be' very real in some convoluted political agenda kind of way... but those of us that are sane and not paranoid just think that it is another fictional film that is quite an adventure.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 8

Miami Vice- This drama has gotten a lot of good reviews and a few bad... but for those of us who are into cop movies that have a lot of action it hits the spot. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx star in this remake of the popular show from the 1980's.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 7

James Bond Collections - With the new Bond movies coming to life on the big screen to once again resurrect the fictional yet phenomenal spy legacy, the collectors edition DVD's are a wonderful addition to your DVD library.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 6

Slither- This was a disturbing yet humorous horror flick that was a pretty wild ride. The morbidly gross mixed with the witty mouths of small town people from the south really made for an interesting and unique 'scary movie'.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 5

Cars- This was a cute little movie that was actually quite funny. It features the voice of everybody's favorite redneck Larry the Cable guy. The additions to the DVD are really quite cool. This was voted at several locations to be one of the best DVD's for its 'funny factors'.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 4

Monster House- What seems to be a funny movie about a haunted house on Halloween turns into a heart warming tale of an old man's love and caring heart. This I think surprised most who watched it by delivering the unexpected twist of drama into this animated treasure.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 3

Saw 2 - This movie did not disappoint horror fanatics that crave the sight of blood and gore. Personally it was warped and disturbing, but then again so was the first. If you are really into the sick and twisted stories that make your skin crawl that the Saw DVD's are for you.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 2

Mission Impossible 3- There are added scenes to this complicated plot where yet again To Cruise must save the day with ridiculous stunts. They bonus features are cool and the story is action packed and in the end that is all that matters for those of us who love the action/adventure DVD's.

Top 10 DVD's of 2006: # 1

Walt Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean 2 takes this spot hands down. The bonus features including the bloopers makes this a wonderful addition to your DVD's. It is a fun romp on yet another high sea adventure... but this one had more action and new twists that no one could see coming. I think everyone is chomping at the bit to see the next of this series hit the theatres.
