Back To School High School Supply Essentials

There are certain things every child needs in high school in order to achieve orderliness, good habits, good grades and of course to always be prepared.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #1

All writing needs. This of course is most important to be well stocked on,. without these tools, notes cannot be taken, passages important for tests highlighted, and the list goes on. Make sure your child has an ample supply at school and at home. These would be:

blue pens
black pens
red pens
number two pencils
erasers separate from pencils
assorted color highlighters

An excellent binder is an absolute necessity for the high-school high school supply list. This binder will allow them to organize all paperwork from all classes. This can actually make a bug difference in grades. The reason being is, if your child is diligent about his/her homework, but is completely disorganized, half the time the homework does not get turned in. The other reason for improving grades is because your child can keep immaculate notes in school, but if they are not organized, when it comes time to study for the test, he/she will not be able to find the necessary notes.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #3

An excellent backpack . Along the same lines as number two on the list, a backpack with plenty of space and different compartments are important for organization. Remember, there will be many nights that your child will have to bring numerous text books home, along with the binder. It is very important the backpack has enough space to accommodate this. If it doesn't, your child may be choosing which textbook he/she will leave out due to space. That's one more homework assignment not done.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #4

A wardrobe our child is happy with. I realize this sounds superficial and unimportant, but its more important than most think. I am not saying to spend a lot of money, I'm saying to spend it wisely. The more time your child spends being self-conscious about the way they look, the less time they will be concentrating while in school.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #5

Transportation pass. If your school does not provide busing, the best bet is to get a monthly trans pass. This takes one less thing off both your mind and theirs,. Instead of scrambling for fare every day, your child will merely have to always keep it with their wallet, that way, their fare is always there.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #6

An excellent calculator. The Texas Instrument TI-83 is the best investment you can make. They will be using it o a daily basis. I understand that even on discount sites this calculator goes for around $125.99. Since it is used everyday, and is able to not only last the four years of high school, but can even be passed down, this is one back to school supply I don't suggest skimping on.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #7

Paper, paper and paper. Paper is so important in school of any year, but particularly high school. Make sure you have a great supply of computer paper on hand as there will be many projects. Your child will also need graph paper, and plenty of it. This graph paper isn't just used in math class anymore. Then of course, there's the old standard loose leaf paper. Make sure there's plenty of this both in the binder for school and a nice supply of it at home for homework time.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #8

Two alarm clocks. Many children by now are waking on their own, but believe it or not, many are still relying on their parents to do so. Being in high school is preparing them for either the working world and being on their own, or getting ready for college. If they rely on their parents until they move up in the world they are in for a "rude awakening". So you may be wondering why two alarm clocks. Well besides the heavy sleepers, there are acts of nature that can knock out electricity in the middle of the night. If they have one battery powered and one electric, they're set. Not to mention the old standby of having one clock next to them and one across the room to ensure they get out of that bed.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #9

An address book. Yes, I know this one sounds funny, but today, with our cell phones, calling people at the touch of the button, or by name, no one really remembers peoples phone numbers and addresses anymore. This way if there is some type of emergency, and they cannot get a hold of you and say their cell is dead, they then have "Aunt Sally's" number to call.

Essential Back-to-School Supplies for Highschoolers #10

One last back to school supply for your highschooler. Something special that they want, not necessarily need. Something frivolous (or it may seem so to you) that they want really bad. Of course you will have to put limits on the spending here, but just to make them feel special and that you are proud of them can indeed make a difference in their grades.

I'm doing some quick return comments today. I've really got to catch up with my writing, but I had to make sure to get a webpage done, too! Then, I've got a lot of things happening for which I'll need money! I'll have to get my butt in gear and write, write, write, write. However, please, also do me a favor and visit www.everlastinglight.tk
