Fourth of July party song #10: Rockin in the Free World ~ Neil Young. This song was released on his 1989 album Freedom. There are actually 2 versions of this song that were released. One was acoustic and the other electric. For a Fourth of July party song, I think the electric version would be much more mood setting.
Fourth of July party song #9: Red White and Blue ~ Lynard Skynard. This song was released on the Vicious Cycle album in 2003 to show support of the country's troops. This band has always been proud to be American's. They have many other songs that would work just as well, to play at a Fourth of July party. This song is about being an everyday America, White Hair, Red necks, Blue collars. Working hard and getting old.
Fourth of July party song #8: Born in the USA ~ Bruce Springsteen. This song was the title song on his 1984 album. Rolling Stone names this song 275 out of the top 500 songs of all time. This song is about the Vietnam War. Also this may not sound patriotic; it is a fact of life and is still a great song to make your proud of being born in the USA.
Fourth of July party song #7: We're An American Band ~ Grand Funk Railroad. This song was also the title song on this album. The song talks of traveling across the county and hanging out with fans. Rockin in true American style.
Fourth of July party song #6: R.O.C.K. in the USA ~ John Cougar Mellencamp. This song was on the Scarecrow album, released in 1985. It is about the different people who rocked out!
Fourth of July party song #5: Star Spangled Banner ~ Jimi Hendrix. This was first played for crowds when he headlined the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival. Just listening to his rendition of this song makes you have a whole new respect for him and the song.
Fourth of July party song #4: Fortunate Son ~ Creedence Clearwater Revival. This song appeared on the Willy and Poor Boys album in 1969. This song, so many others of its time, was popular during the time of the Vietnam War. This is because it is about men being drafted for the war. Bob Seger did a remake of this song in 1986.
Fourth of July party song #3: American Bad Ass ~ Kid Rock. This song is off his Cocky album, which was released in 2001. Although this may not be the most patriotic song, it still puts everyone in a good mood when they hear it. Kid Rock has long been a bit patriotic American as you can see in the way he always waves the American flag, praises being an American in many of his song and performs for our troops overseas. Kid Rock, like Lynard Skyanrd, has many other songs you can choose from to add to your Fourth of July party song roster.
Fourth of July party song #2: VOA ~ Sammy Hagar. This song is the title song off the album which came out in 1984. For those who aren't' familiar with the song, the VOA stands for the Voice of America. It's a very empowering song that makes you feel strong as a country.
Fourth of July party song #1: America, F*ck Yeah ~ Team America: World Police Soundtrack. This movie and soundtrack came out in 2004. Although it is not a serious song that you'd ever hear on a radio station, it'll make everyone at your Fourth of July party smile and sing along.
