Today there are pop stars that will never be remembered even by next year. Though this is true, some pop stars just seem to hang around in our memories and achieve greatness. These ten artists are some of these groups that will always be remembered as the greatest pop stars of all time.

1. The Beatles - Though The Beatles are widely recognized as being one of the pioneers of rock, they also paved the road for up and coming pop stars. They had 27 #1 hit songs and ended up being easily the greatest band of all time. They are easily the best thing that happened to music this century and with that is the best pop star of all time.

2. Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley is another pioneer of rock. Though not quite as influential as The Beatles, Elvis still became one of the best pop stars to ever live. With songs like Don't Be Cruel, Hound Dog, and All Shook Up, Elvis flew up the charts to become one of the best pop stars of all time.

3. Michael Jackson - Michael Jackson has been a star ever since he was a young child. When he was just a young boy the Jackson 5 came about and this is what launched Michael Jackson's outstanding career. Though he will always be remembered as a freak or pedophile to some, there is no doubt that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest pop stars of all time and should be remembered for his music, not his personal life.

4. Madonna - Easily the greatest female pop star to ever live, Madonna was loved by both fans and critics alike. She challenged every sexual taboo in the media and did it well. With the song, "Like a Virgin," she propelled herself to the top by doing this. She entertained millions and is still making music today.

5. Mariah Carey - Not to mention being one of the greatest female vocalists of all time, Mariah Carey was also one of the best pop stars of all time. Mariah broke through with the album "Mariah Carey" and never looked back. It is easy to say that she is one of the best pop stars of all time.

6. Janet Jackson - At the young age of seven years old, Janet Jackson started performing in Las Vegas. This helped propel her career as good anything else could do. She become one of the greatest pop stars to ever live and even ousted her brother, Michael Jackson, in record sales at one point in her career.

7. Elton John - Elton John could be described as one of the most sappy pop stars of all time. It works though. He has produced monster hits such as, Candle in the Wind, Your Song, Rocket Man, and many others. After being knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, it is safe to say that Elton deserves a spot among every top ten list for greatest pop stars of all time.

8. Stevie Wonder - Along with his hit singles and albums, Stevie Wonder stood for so much more. Even though he had great success with his recording work, he also stood for various causes. He fought for gun control, fought against world hunger, and even created a holiday out of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

9. Ray Charles - Being ranked at #2 on the greatest artists of all time according to Rolling Stone Magazine means something. Ray Charles deserves a spot on this list simply because he is a great musician and is one of the greatest pop stars to ever live.

10. Frank Sinatra - When Frank Sinatra entered the music business, it was a changing time. He was one of the father figures of the rat pack era and could be considered to be the best star of his genre. With songs like My Way and Come Fly With Me, Frank Sinatra deserves a spot on the list of greatest pop stars ever.
