Recorded in 1965 for the CBS hit Holiday soundtrack A Charlie Brown Christmas, Italian-American composer Vince Guaraldi's instrumental track "Christmastime is Here" instantly became a classic Holiday tune for the entire family. According to his official website, Guaraldi shot to fame due to his incredible musical compositions on the Holiday animated Television show.
CHRISTMAS/SARAJEVO 12/24
Originally recorded in 1995 by Savatage, "Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24" was re-released by the Transiberian Orchestra a year later. The popular instrumental track was featured on Transiberian Orchestra's 1996 album Christmas Eve And Other Stories, suddenly becoming a household favorite.
I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Recorded in 1943 by legendary singer Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley's version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" was an instant success as fans of Presley admired his deep and soothing vocals on this Holiday ballad. Presley used his vocals to display the personal and emotional lyrics to the popular Christmas melody.
MELE KALIKIMAKA (MERRY CHRISTMAS)
Covered in the 1950s by singer Bing Crosby, the Holiday Classic "Mele Kalikimaka" was a Hawaiian-themed song encouraging all to have a "Merry Christmas". Many listeners adored the imagery displayed throughout the lyrics of the song, as the words depicted tropical sunsets while commemorating the Holiday.
ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE
Recorded in 1958, singer Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" proved to be a Top 40 hit in the 1960s as listeners enjoyed the Jolly Christmas anthem from this gifted singer. The up-beat Christmas tune helped Brenda Lee quickly rise to fame as the track became a Holiday classic with lyrics such as, "...we'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do some caroling..." The song continues to play across nationally broadcast Radio stations during the Holiday season.
PLEASE COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Originally released in 1960 by singer/Pianist Charles Brown, "Please Come Home For Christmas" was a romantic ballad proclaiming the affectionate thoughts of one to their significant other as they reminisce on love during the Holidays. In the late 1970s, Classic Rock band The Eagles reintroduced the World to the Christmas tune as they provided a unique style to the Holiday classic.
HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS
Written and recorded in 1947 by singer Gene Autry, "Here Comes Santa Claus" became an instant Holiday classic as the song featured an up-beat melody with Christmas-themed lyrics outlining Santa Claus' schedule of events as he delivers Christmas presents to children.
IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS
According to the Internet Movie Database, Composer Meredith Wilson originally wrote the hit Christmas tune "It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas", which would receive numerous Radio station airplay when Perry Como released his version later the same year. The song provided descriptive images of the town's festive Holiday spirit outdoors and in local shops, enticing others to join in on the Christmas festivities.
CAROL OF THE BELLS
Originally written by Ukrainian Composer Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych in the early 1900s, the instrumental track "Carol of The Bells" gradually became a yearly musical tradition as Choral groups and instrumentalists would perform the song for major Christmas productions. Many artists and musicians have covered the harmonic song including Pianist John Tesh and Guitarist Gary Hoey.
