#9 - Remember the time
Remember the Time is the ninth song of Michael Jackson's top song of all time. Remember the Time is a love song that portrays the memories of a close intimate relationship. This song's music has an urban R&B feel to it. The video for this song is forever etched into my brain of supermodel Iman as an Egyptian queen who fall in love with the mystical character played by Michael Jackson and actor/comedian Eddie Murphy play the jealous pharaoh.
#8 - The Way you make me Feel
The Way You Make me Feel is a very hot and steamy love song. This song is a pop song with an upbeat tempo. The Way You Make Me Feel is a great dancing song. The song lyrics states, "The Way you Turn Me On....You knock me off my feet, now Baby", it clearly shows a more sexual intimate side to Michael, which is totally different from most of his other songs.
#7 - Rock with You
Rock with You is another great classic from Michael's earliest solo album, "Off The Wall". With this album, Michael was creating a true identity for himself as a solo artist. Another great Michael Jackson classic is Man in the Mirror. I love this song because of the deep important message of the song. The lyrics states, "I am looking at the man in the mirror, I am looking to change my ways." The message in the song is so powerful because it relates to everyday living and the world. The meaning of the song is that in order to make a difference in the world you must first start with yourself. This song is actually a life lesson on how you can change the world for the better.
#3 - Beat It
Beat It is the third song on my personal favorite list. Beat It was number one on the 80's pop chart list. Beat It is a timeless classic that was and still is enjoyed by many. It is the pop song that showed Michael's flare for rock. In M.J.'s Beat It video, he entertains the viewing audience through his smooth dance move as a remarkable performer. Beat It is one of the big songs that lefts it mark on the 80's.
#2 - Billie Jean
Billie Jean is the number two song on my list. Billie Jean was one of Michael Jackson's top songs on the Thriller Album. Michael once again makes his fans hearts melt as he song the lyrics with his smooth gentle voice. In this song, he carried each note to perfection. The video was splendid and it was on point as to how it portrayed the story of the song. The lyrics states, "Billie Jean is not my lover. She is just a girl who says that I am the one. But the kid is not my son."
#1 - Thriller
The number one song is Thriller. Thriller was a super hit on the Michael Jackson, Thriller Album. This song was a sensation because it also reached number on the pop song chart during the 80's. This song paved a new standard to music by incorporating a video/film that portrays the story to the song. The Thriller video was actually a short movie the captured the full essence of the song with the brilliant choreography, makeup, set design, and costume designs. Michael was definitely ahead of his time with his creativity and originally in his songs, dance, music, and videos.
Michael Jackson had extraordinary talent. His spirit will always be with us through his music and videos. He was a genius, legend, and an icon. He will definitely be missed but his precious songs will last forever. I love you Michael and may you rest in peace.
