The only reason why the death rates are not higher in ALL CITIES is the fact that doctors/nurses are able to save more lives.

OMG what a bunch of low life biggots on here. I'm always amazed at the amount of ignorance in this world. Grow up, get a life, try to like people becos of who they r not for their looks or race. it appears here that ignorance & racism abounds. I have been to none of these dangerous cities. Why, cos I'm smart enough to research where I'm going to before I even make up my mind where I'm going. Make sure if u risk ur life it's for a really great reason.

I actually went to Corpus Christie in 1991(?) for an athletic college national tournament & they made it seem ssso beautiful & serene(hotel is across the street from the Gulf Of Mexico etc...) & let me tell you. Besides our hotel, everything surrounding it(literally) was a filthy, rundown, burntdown, boarded up dumpster. Felt like a ghost town also. Lots of vacant buildings & there wasn't anywhere to go(shop/groceries/restaurants etc..). At night though.....very dangerous. A huge hells angels dude cornered me in an alley by myself(I was alone w/a cs. of beer) & asked me for one & I said no. He reached in his fanny pack & after I shat myself he said "whats this birth certificate say boy?" & I said "rhode island?!!I'm born n raised from Providence!!!" & he said "i knew ya accent right away brotha". gave him a beer & we hung out!!!!...dangerous city though still. Anyone agree?

Yahoo should be ashamed for allowing such unenlightened
    and anti american commentary.
The statistics are just a multiplication of factors.
A murder, rape or robbery in any town, large or small has the same horrible impact on the immediate community of family, relatives and friends. Those who instantly eat from the garbage can of ignorance and post hurtful comments commit crimes as well. A drug related murder is less of a crime than spewing hatred on an entire race.
Try living your own life, Try listenig to a persons voice and words, rather than using your eyes to trigger thoughts of hatred that you were taught, but never experienced.
In other words your hatred is a tradtition. Tradition is the sharing of positive and important experiences of past generations that we want to keep alive. As parents we should end the tradition of hatred. Our children have no idea how to hate.
