1. Labrador Retriever
No one should be surprised by the fact that the Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed. They are sweet dogs, they are friendly, and very easy to train. Labrador Retrievers are great dogs when it comes to children, no matter how old they are. These dogs are often seen with gold, black, or chocolate fur and they usually grow to be anywhere from 50-80 pounds.
2. Yorkshire Terrier
Yorkshire Terriers are a very small breed, but that doesn't mean they aren't loved greatly. Yorkshire Terriers usually weigh about 7 pounds. They are have black fur on their back and tan fur on their chest. They are active dogs, but they are more for people who want a lap dog. They are said to be very intelligent dogs, but not at all aggressive.
3. German Shepard
German Shepards are often referred to as "police dogs," and that plays a part in their popularity. They are very large dogs, weighing anywhere from 50 to 80 pounds. They are known to be a more aggressive breed of dogs, but are very obedient. The need a strong master when they are being trained because they are very strong-willed, but when they are train they are some of the best behaved dogs out there.
4. Golden Retriever
This should not come as a surprise to most people, it is well known that Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds. They are some of the most friendly and most kind dogs, which means they are great if you have a family, and other dogs. They love the water, and are often used a hunting dogs. Many people confuse this breed with Labradors, and two are very similar, but Golden Retrievers have a long-haired coat.
5. Beagle
Beagles are the fifth most popular dogs. They are not as small as Yorkshire Terriers, but not nearly as big as Golden Retrievers. They are commonly known to have one of the most developed sense of smell out of all the dog breeds. They are very happy dogs as well as friendly, and are even said to be bad guard dogs because they are so friendly.
