Top 10 NCAA Basketball Point Guards
#1 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Sherron Collins, Kansas
Sherron Collins put the NBA off for a year to come back for a shot at the NCAA title this season. So far, he's taken up from where he left off last season as the Jayhawks work out the kinks in the early season games.
#2 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - John Wall, Kentucky
John Wall has been impressive to watch this season. He's already ahead of Derek Rose and Tyreke Evans at this point of the year, so expect him to continue to improve and potentially overtake Sherron Collins in the top spot by the end of the season.
#3 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Kalin Lucas, Michigan State
Kalin Lucas has been getting it done for the Spartans so far this year. If he can bring the rest of the Spartans along, they should contenders for the Big 10 title and for the 2010 NCAA tournament.
#4 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard Greivis Vasquez, Maryland
Greivis Vasquez is one of the best guards in the ACC. Maryland was lucky to get him back for this year, but don't expect him to stick around after the 2009-10 season. He should make Maryland competitive with Duke and North Carolina for the 2010 ACC title.
#5 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Devan Downey, South Carolina
Devan Downey will pass 2,000 points and 500 assists this season at South Carolina. The Gamecocks will be a good team this year, and if they catch some breaks, South Carolina may just make the NCAA tournament this season.
#6 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard Nic Wise, Arizona
Nic Wise passed up the NBA in the 2009 NBA draft, can run the point and shoot the 3. Look for him to continue having big year this year and be a top pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
#7 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Corey Fisher, Villanova
Nova comes into the 2009-10 season as the Big East favorite. Corey Fisher has been having a great season so far and will be a key to how far the Wildcats go this season.
#8 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Kemba Walker, Connecticut
If Kemba Walker continues to prove he can score at the level he has achieved this season, then he will rise in the Point Guard rankings. So far, Walker has shown that he has worked a lot in the offseason to address his shortcomings from last year.
#9 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Edgar Sosa, Louisville
Edgar Sosa leads the defending Big East regular season and tournament champions into the 2009-10 season. Their performance in 2010 will be determined by how well he performs.
#10 2009 NCAA Basketball Point Guard - Abdul Gaddy, Washington
If Abdul Gaddy had signed with an ACC, Big East, or Big Ten team, we would see significantly more hype surrounding him this year. He's going to do big things at Washington this season as he gains more and more playing time in the already deep backcourt of the Huskies.
