There is no need to go spend a bundle on a fashionable new swimsuit when visiting the Top 10 Nude Beaches in Florida. Romp in the sunshine in nothing but your birthday suit on the white sandy shores of these clothing optional beaches. Municipal laws vary with stipulations regarding public indecency, i.e. skinny dipping is either strictly or loosely enforced inside Florida's state boundaries. To prevent embarrassment, or possibly a fine, always check for local ordinance changes before disrobing at the beach.

Hobe Sound

1 - The beach area is popular escape for upper-class vacationers and celebrities. While a secluded little piece of sand, mansions owned by the likes of Celine Dion dot the landscape and are visible from the public swimming and sand areas. Hobe Sound is an uncrowded and offers a serene atmosphere for discrete nudists.

Haulover Beach

2 - The beach features designated nude bathing areas, as dictated by the county government. Typically, Haulover Beach draws a diverse crowd of naturalists ranging in both age and body type. A low-key and accepting atmosphere dominates Haulover Beach. Gawking teenagers with binoculars are not well tolerated among the nudists who tend to congregate on the beach.

Playalinda Beach

3 - Escape from the crowds and commercialized aspects often associated with beach areas at Playalinda. The under-developed white sandy beach is noted as a haven for eco-tourists and nudists. Do not expect large parking areas of rest room facilities adjacent to the beach. Plan ahead and pack everything you need to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon under the warming glow of the Florida sunshine.

Apollo Beach

4 - Although local laws frown upon nude sun-bathing at Apollo Beach, it has been a popular haunt for naturalists for decades. Typically, as long as visitors are discrete and do not disturb other beach guests, disrobing is tolerated. Apollo Beach is near the city of Daytona, which also offer lodging geared specifically to nudists.

St. Lucia Inlet State Preserve

5 - The preserve is located near Hobe Sound and offers hiking trails with intriguing flora and fauna. While local lawns tend to frown upon clothing optional antics, discrete nudist still frequently visit the area. Disrobe both with caution and at your own risk.

Gulf Islands National Seashore

6 - The fairly deserted and under-developed areas of the Gulf Islands National Seashore attract naturalists and skinny dipping often occurs. You may encounter a park staffer who instructs you to hop pack into your clothes, but the fear of discovery does not deter large numbers of nudists visiting the seashore annually.

South Beach

7 - The partying and care-free atmosphere of the Miami area invites both budding nudists and veteran naturalists to disrobe and get a line free tan while visiting the area. Local laws and designated clothing optional areas vary. Just follow the crowd or trail of discarded swimming trunks to the most recent nudist friendly sun-bathing area.

Navarre Beach at Eglin Air Force Base

8 - The beaches which border the air force base have long been popular with nudists. The clothing optional practices have been cracked down upon in recent years. You ability to disrobe will vary depending upon the personality and strict adherence of the rules of the daily security patrol. Nudists still visit the beach, but exercise caution and discretion - with their clothes nearby in case a security patrol ventures by to issue a warning.

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

9 - The state park is located near the air force base and a public nudist haven until the late 1980's. Although local law frown upon clothing optional activities, nudists still count the beach as a popular place to lay around in the buff. Typically, nudists are not hassled if they use discretion and stay within the park's boundaries.

St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge

10 - You will have to own or rent a boat to reach the uninhabited refuge and primitive beaches. While you can sun-bath in the nude to your heart's delight, the island does not offer any modern amenities or lifeguards to come to your aid. The primary visitors to the island are nudists and eco-tourists.
