Top 10 Overall Fantasy Baseball Draft Rankings - 2009 Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide

Let's face it, any player that you pick in the top ten of your fantasy baseball draft is going to have huge expectations. The trick is to pick a reliable player who has slipped a little farther than they should based on the projections. Here's a look at the top ten overall fantasy baseball draft rankings for 2009

1. Alex Rodriguez- I know some others are dropping ARod some, but he's just too consistent to not have him at the top spot. He's a durable player who hits the ball for power and swipes some bases every single year.

2009 Projected Stats- .298 average 39 home runs 123 runs batted in

2. Hanley Ramirez- Ramirez does absolutely everything a fantasy owner could possibly want him to do. Ramirez has great speed, hits for a great average and hits plenty of home runs, and scores a ton of runs. Hanley Ramirez is still on the upward swing, and the sky is the limit.

2009 Projected Stats- .301 average 34 home runs 100 runs batted in 41 stolen bases

3. Jose Reyes- The shortstop position is obviously loaded at the top with Ramirez and Reyes. Reyes has everything Ramirez does except the power. Reyes does offset that some with even more steals though. Picking between Ramirez and Reyes is tough.

2009 Projected Stats- .291 average 17 home runs 73 runs batted in 62 stolen bases

4. Albert Pujols- Pujols battled injuries all last year and still hit the cover off the baseball. The man is just a pure hitting machine. You can't go wrong with someone who constantly hits .325 or higher and bashes at least 35 home runs.

2009 Projected Stats- .329 average 41 home runs 117 runs batted in

5. David Wright- David Wright is still a young player and he just keeps getting better by the year. The average will always be there as will the power and a few stolen bases. David Wright is a solid fifth overall pick.

2009 Projected Stats- .313 average 34 home runs 111 runs batted in 16 stolen bases

6. Ryan Braun- Some managers may have felt a bit of a letdown from his average of .280 last year, but Braun still had a tremendous year. Braun is a youngster with tons of power and a little speed too.

2009 Projected Stats- .288 average 41 home runs 117 runs batted 14 stolen bases

7. Grady Sizemore- Grady is an absolute lock for 30/30 if he stays healthy and he is one the few players in baseball who has a chance at 40/40 at some point. Grady is maturing at the plate and could breakout even more this year.

2009 Projected Stats- .291 average 38 home runs 93 runs batted in 33 stolen bases

8. Miguel Cabrera- Miguel had a down season for him last year and he still hit .292, expect that average back above .300 as the Tigers should improve on last season's woes.

2009 Projected Stats- .311 average 37 home runs 127 runs batted

9. Johan Santana- Here is the first of the pitchers. I know some rank Sabathia ahead of Santana, but I'll take Santana who has been much more consistent in his career.

2009 Projected Stats- 19 wins 2.77 ERA 212 strikeouts

10. Chase Utley- The 10 spot was a tough call between two Phils, Utley and Howard. Utley won out because of the far superior average. Chase Utley is easily the top second baseman.

2009 Projected Stats- .299 average 30 home runs 108 runs batted in
