Top 10 Party Dance Songs

Jill Lane
Every party needs a good soundtrack. Unless you are having a quiet evening in your home, you need something to keep your guests moving. Dancing people are happy people. And who doesn't want their party to be remembered as a happy place? These songs are in no order, so play them at random too.

1. "I Like to Move it (Move it)" Reel 2 Reel - Who doesn't like to move it? He does, she does...everyone does!

2. "Just Dance" Lady Gaga -How can you not dance to a song that perkily and cheerfully reminds you why to keep your shirt on and your house keys within sight? For all the she is everywhere, this song is deserving of the pop culture icon she has become.

3. "Every Time We Touch" Cascada - European techno, it is all about dancing. The words are silly, but who dances to words?

4. "Intergalactic" Beastie Boys - A band that knew what people wanted, white rappers before it was a big deal. And a beat that commands hip swivels.

5. "Let It Rock" Kevin Rudolf (Feat, Li'l Wayne) Never mind that this was everywhere from high school basketball games to WWE tournaments. This song is empowering, this song makes it OK to be who you are and move something.

6. "Thriller" Micheal Jackson - One of the best dancers of all time had one of the best dance songs ever.

7. "Boom Boom Pow" Black Eyed Peas - You can't have a party with out the peas. And you can't sit still to this bass line.

8. "Get the Party Started" Pink - Play it, because it will.

9. "Brickhouse" The Commodores - Can you even mention a house made of brick without thinking of this song? No? Then your party will need more help than this list.

10. "You Shook me All Night Long" AC/DC - Yeah. 'Nuff said.

Bonus:"Barbie Girl" Aqua - This is a bonus and more on the list for me. I have never been to party where people at lest didn't talk about this song as it was being played. And there is always a couple acting out the part of Barbie and Ken.

But a great party soundtrack has a song on it that you didn't realize you loved until you heard it at a party. Remember Paradise City, on the movie Can't Hardly Wait? That's what I'm talking about. By the way, here' are some songs that most people just love to the core, but don't realize it: "Video Killed the Radio Star" (preferably the Presidents of the USA version); "We Are the Champions" by Queen; and if you really want the party to get crazy, "Party Hard," by Andrew WK.
