A personalized gift for Mom can be something as simple as a handmade card. Think of special things that mean something just between you and your mom and include them in your card. If you can't think of anything to write in your card, check on line, there are several different sites for Mothers day poems and sayings. Try keywords like "Mothers day poetry". As for the materials to make your card, any store selling crafts and notions will have exactly what you need. Be sure to check the scrap booking section for embellishments for your card.
Wonderful shops to check into, especially this time of year, are engraving stores. You can get mom some beautiful items at these stores for under $75.00 with your own message engraved on the item or items you choose. Some ideas to look for in these stores are... picture frames or photo albums (be sure to include a photo of you and your mom in these selections), music boxes, trinket boxes clocks and jewelry. If your mom has a taste for wine, most engraving stores have wine glasses, you can add a bottle of her favorite wine for a nice relaxing treat. For a more professional mom be sure to check the business gift section for items for her desk. Such as a mouse, pen holder or paper weight. Most engraving places will engrave carry in items also, so if you are on a very strict budget try getting these items at a cheaper store and bringing them in to be engraved. Be sure to include nicknames for a more personal touch. If your at a complete loss for words, ask the sales person at the engraving store for some help coming up with the perfect quote for your mom. Also remember that if you have made mom something special or have a special item already, engraving stores also have engraveable plates of varying shapes and sizes to add to your item.
If you are a crafty type person the possibilities are endless for inexpensive gifts for mom! Just remember to keep it something special between you and your mom. When she throws that old saying at you "it's the thought that counts", she means it! So keep it simple yet special and it will mean everything you wanted it too.
