Although rap music is not what it used to be, during the holidays there are still some Yule tide greetings put to a funky beat with some old school record scratching that will have you bobbing your head. So, in honor of the genre of rap this article collects for you the ten best rap Christmas songs of all time.

#10: The true first white male rapper by most people's standards is Vanilla Ice, but oh contraire mon fraire, the first white male rapper was in fact Andy Williams with his "Christmas Rap". Williams studied under LL Cool J and Run DMC who gave him the rapper name Walk Chili Willie Cool. This is a true story.

#9: In the late 1980's gangster rap had taken over the genre and no other rapper was more gangster than the late Easy E. No matter how gangster he was he knew it was important as a musician to have his own Christmas song titled "Merry Muther Fucking Christmas". Although the language is explicit, it fits the genre like a glove.

#8: In 1980 Curtis Blow was the king of rap. One man on stage with a microphone was all that was needed to get the dance floor grooving. During Christmas time Curtis added his original tune titled "Christmas Rapping" for people to dance to. He shocked audiences nationwide when he premiered the song on live television and did not lip sync the words.

#7: By the late 1990's rap music was everywhere and there were more rappers than ever before. The rap rendition of "Last Christmas" released in the fall of 1998 featured an all star list of artists with vocals done by Leroy Daniels. The group toured the world with this song and captured the hearts of millions with the Christmas spirit.

#6: Many can relate to the title "Christmas in the Ghetto" and Jules Santana along with Jim Jones and others had the unique talent to communicate straight to the hearts and minds of young children in the 'hood. The track was created for the mix tape "Bad Santa" released in 2008 with various rap artists.

#5: If there is one man who has made a fortune by pulling talented musical artists together on a project, that man is Sean "Diddy" Combs. His collaboration of the Christmas classic "Santa Baby" featured such hip hop stars as Salt N' Peppa, TLC, Run DMC, Snoop Dogg, Onyx, and Mase.

#4: At the turn of the new millennium Rap and Hip Hop had crossed numerous boundaries in the entertainment world. Jim Carey found a way to cross yet another one with Buster Rhymes as they recreated the "Grinch 2000" from the hit movie of the same title. Carey even makes a guest appearance on the track with his debut rap performance.

#3: Inner city youth have a different vision of Christmas than most , due to the amount of money needed to fulfill the traditional descriptions. Snoop Dogg knew this as he gave his version of Christmas with this track titled "Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto" Featuring the unmistakable smooth sounds of Nate Dog singing the chorus.

#2: One of the most influential female rap groups in history, TLC, will forever have their version of "Sleigh Ride" played in millions of homes worldwide for many Christmas's to come. The song was originally recorded for the "Home Alone 2" soundtrack.

#1: No Christmas party or gathering can be complete without the pioneers of rap from Hollis Queens, New York. Run DMC recorded "Christmas in Hollis" in 1987 for a compilation album called "A Very Special Christmas". The song has become more popular each year and was last charted on the billboard Hip Hop charts as late as 2000, some 13 years after it was released. The song was most remembered in the hit Bruce Willis action classic, "Die Hard".
