Number 10: Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight
Recorded by: Spaniels. It is very romantic, it talks about him not wanting to leave his sweetheart. Although this is the most popular song, it is one that I have always liked.
Number 9: Love Potion Number 9
Recorded by: The Clovers. This was a favorite song of mine when I was young, it was kinda a strange song for a little kid to like but I loved the idea that there could be a love potion. While some people wouldn't consider this a romantic song, I think it can be considered romantic, someone going all out for love.
Number 8: All I have to do is dream
Recorded by: The Everly Brothers. This is such a romantic song because it shows that even if he can't be with you, he is happy just by dreaming about you.
Number 7: Lonely Teardrops
Recorded by: Jackie Wilson. This is another sang about a lost romance. Even though this is a sad love song, I think it is a very romantic song.
Number 6: I walk the Line
Recorded By Johnny Cash. Everybody knows this song, and it has been made even more poplar recently because of the movie. The song is about Cash staying faithful to his wife even though he was on the road. This is one of those songs that tells a story with the lyrics.
Number 5: Band of Gold
Recorded by: Don Cherry. This song is a romantic song, but a sad romantic song. It reminds me of a few relationships that I have had that didn't work work out.
Number 4: Three Coins In A Fountain
Recorded by: Frank Sinatra. This song remind me of the movie, three coins in the fountain. Any Song by Frank Sinatra has to be great and this one is, it is romantic, and talks about lovers wishing with coins in a fountain.
Number 3: In the Still of The Night
Recorded by The Five Satins. This song was used in Disneyland's Enchanted Tiki Room. In the song they "promise to never let you go" How can you get more romantic then that.
Number 2: Earth Angel
Originally recorded by The Penguins. This is a very sweet song. This song seems to come from such a pure love. This song is one of the romantic doo-wop songs.
Number 1: Unchained Melody
Recorded by many different artists. This is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th Century. The most popular version was probably recorded by the Righteous Brothers. I love this song, it is so romantic. Although it has nothing to do with the fifties whenever I hear this song it remind me of the movie Ghost.
I hope I covered some of your favorite songs, and I hope I brought back some good memories for you!

Post a CommentI think Al Hibler's version of 'Unchained Melody' is the very best!
On "Unchained Melody," you said it had nothing to do with the 50's. That song is straight from the 50's. It was a hit with Al Hibler in the 1950's, just to set the record straight.
