Top 10 Romantic Songs from Michael Jackson

Shamontiel
Michael "King of Pop" Jackson won 13 Grammy awards, 1985's Best-Selling Album of All Time (Guinness Book of World Records), a Living Legend Award, and an NAACP Image Award, in addition to hundreds of others. The late Michael Jackson was a performer, a singer, an artist, a humanitarian, and a father. But from the time I was born in 1981 until he passed, women I knew talked more about how big of a crush they had on him from the Jackson 5 all the way until he unexpectedly passed away on June 25, 2009. The awards and money never came up in conversation; they just had a thing for Michael Jackson himself.

While I loved his music, I didn't used to pay attention to Michael Jackson in that fashion because he was old enough to be my own father (literally my father's age too). But as I grew up, I started appreciating how smooth Michael Jackson was and just why women were falling all over the place for him.

Although there were flirty songs like "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" and "Rock With You" that people were too busy dancing to pay attention to the sexy innuendos, Michael Jackson knew when to slow it down. The following are ten noteworthy romantic songs by R&B and pop icon Michael Jackson:

How to make it blatantly obvious that a guy would like to become intimate:

1. Break of Dawn: "C'mere girl, just got to make love 'til the break of dawn, I don't want the sun to shine, I want to make love"

2. Lady in my Life: "Lay back in my tenderness, let's make this a night we won't forget, girl, I need your sweet caress"

For the guy who is either commitment phobic or realizing he's been shot by Cupid:

3. On the Line: "Got to put your heart on the line, if you want to make it right, you've got to reach out and try"

For the guy to confirm how he feels about a woman he's fallen hard for:

4. I Just Can't Stop Loving You: "I just can't stop loving you, and if I stopped, then tell me what I would do, I just can't stop loving you" (If you've seen "Michael Jackson Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour," you'll probably grin at him grabbing singer and songwriter Siedah Garrett's leg.)

5. Fall Again: "Something about you, it's there in your eyes, everything I'm looking for, I seem to find"

For the guy to confirm he's in this relationship even during the worst times:

6. For All Time (I'll Do Anything): "If you feel alone, I'll be your shoulder, with the tender touch you know so well...When I say I love you, baby, you've got to know that's for all time"

How to make the ex-girlfriend rethink the "ex" part of her title:

7. Remember the Time: "Do you remember the time when we fell in love? Do you remember the time when we first met?"

8. Don't Walk Away: "Tell me what I'll have to do, so you'll stay, should I get down on my knees and pray?"

How to let her current boyfriend know he's about to have an ex-girlfriend because a new guy won her heart again:

9. The Girl Is Mine: "Don't waste your time because the doggone girl is mine...After loving me, she said she couldn't love another"

And as with most men, Michael Jackson seemed to love chasing the woman. My all-time favorite song of his is also one of the sweetest and flirtatious songs:

10. Butterflies: "All you've got to do is walk away and pass me by, don't acknowledge my smile, when I try to say hello to you, yeah, and all you've got to do is not answer my call when I'm trying to get through, keeps me wondering why, when all I can do is sigh, I just want to touch and kiss, said I wish that I could be with you tonight, you give me butterflies inside"

The next time you're feeling a little playful, pop in your favorite Michael Jackson CD with that special someone. Celebrate his legacy and your relationship at the same time, and don't be scared to show her who's "Bad."

Teresa, thanks for checking out the list. "Butterflies" has been my favorite M.J. song for as long as I can remember. I grew fond of "P.Y.T." after seeing the JabbaWockeez perform to it on "America's Best Dance Crew," but "Stranger in Moscow" is my second favorite. Did you see the entry I wrote for M.J.'s inspirational songs?

My personal favorite was "Heaven Can Wait" on Invincible.
No, I don't wanna leave my baby alone/I don't want nobody else to hold you/
That's the chance I'll take/Maybe I'll stay, Heaven can wait.

Hi all and thanks for the feedback. Alyce, that is definitely a good one but I'd left it off because it was right up there with "P.Y.T." and "Rock With You." I was too busy dancing to even think about romance, no matter how cute the song was.

I do not know some of those, but then I never had a MJ LP. I liked "The Way You Make Me Feel" ~ tho' I can not say it has many lyrics.

Great list. "I just can't stop loving you" is one of my personal favorites.

Hey Lyn, I know I've been gone for a minute, but thanks for coming by (and so quickly). I'm still getting used to your real name being here.
