It should be noted that shark attacks on humans are relatively rare and uncommon. While movies like JAWS quickly come to mind when thinking about shark infested beaches, it is unlikely you would ever find yourself coming face to face with a shark while swimming in the ocean, especially if you stay close to the shore in shallow water. The reason many of these top 10 shark infested beaches are so popular amongst sharks is because they are also popular among smaller fish - making them a great place for sharks to live since the supply of food is excellent.

This is interesting info. I would like to see a report of the beaches with the most shark attacks and see if that matches this list.
You're missing one. Last time I went to Myrtle Beach, there were plenty of Land Sharks. Looked like an SNL convention, only less funny and more more terrorizing. I may or may not have been sober at the time. But I know what I saw.
Suddenly, I am finding an increased appreciation for the Great Lakes. ;-)
I will stay away from those beaches- Thanks!
Great article very neat!
