1. Gilmore Girls: Even though I didn't watch Gilmore Girls in its first run, I still enjoyed the re-runs on ABC Family, and later, obtained the entire series on DVD. This show needs to come back for at least one season, because they kind of left a lot of stuff hanging in the air. I would seriously like to know if Luke and Lorelai get married... ever. I also want to know with whom Rory gets together, if anyone. Additionally, I'd like to know what happens to Christopher, since he and Lorelai got married, then divorced. Furthermore, what about some of the minor characters? Do Kirk and LuLu ever get married? I want to see Lane and Zack's twins. As you can see, there are several things that I was left wondering about. Honestly, I think ABC Family could pull off hosting Gilmore Girls season 8.
2. Firefly: First released in 2002, on Fox, Firefly was an excellent sci-fi series. It was short-lived, with only one season. The series was followed with the movie, Serenity, in 2005. I am not usually a fan of sci-fi shows, but this one caught and kept my attention. It was drama-filled, and pretty hilarious at times. If this show was to come back they would, pretty much, have to ignore Serenity, or play it off as a dream sequence or something, but it would be well worth it.
3. Daria: Even though I am getting the entire series and both movies for Christmas this year, Daria is one of those shows that should come back on. There are a plethora of things that they could tackle on the show. And if all else fails, they could do re-runs again. I really just want to see Trent Lane again!
4. Rocko's Modern Life: This was one of my most beloved cartoons, growing up in the 90's. No matter how crazy it sounds, I enjoyed, and would still enjoy the wacky antics, adventures, and misadventures of Rocko the wallaby, Spunky, Heffer, Filbert, and Mr. and Mrs. Bighead.
5. Doug: This was another one of my favorites, growing up in the 90s. I honestly didn't like it when they made him grow up. Sure, it was inevitable, but the high school days were just really weird. However, I would gladly take it, if they were to bring back the show. They would have to impress me, though, and make Doug and Pattie get married or something.
6. Boy Meets World: After growing up with Cory, Topanga, and Shawn for all those years, they just move? Seriously? Is that it? I think there needs to be another season, so we can see what happens after the three move. Then, they can try again, and make a grand finale that doesn't suck. If some bands can do 3 farewell tours, then Boy Meets World can have a finale do-over.
7. Salute Your Shorts: This show was the epitome of summer camp shows. Do they really expect us to accept that it only lasted 20 episodes? There are so many things that could have happened. I'm mad that I never got to see them really torture Ug. They need to come back, and do this up in an epic manner. Sure, the kids are all grown up, but they say everyone has a twin...
8. Full House: Granted this show ran for eight years, and the re-runs are still on, the show kind of just...ended. Did it not? I think the "finale" was part two of Michelle's horse-jumping accident, when the family is trying to help her regain her memory. Honestly, I don't think that made for a very good ending for a show that everyone knows and loves. Again, everyone is all grown up now... so maybe an episode or two, to jump to the future of what happened with everyone, could suffice. Hey, the Bradys did with a movie. Why not the Tanners?
9. USA High: Apparently, none of my friends remember this show, but it aired in 1997, on USA, if I'm not mistaken. It was about 4 Americans, a German, and a Brit, who all went to The American Academy of Paris. The show had all your usual teenage themes-- romance, drama, and comedy... but with accents!
10. Bill Nye, the Science Guy: This crazy science guy is about the only thing that kept me sane in science class. He didn't necessarily make learning fun, but he was fun to watch, and he got me out of having to do any actual work some days, in class. He has his own show on Planet Green now, so that shows he's not too old to still do Bill Nye, the Science Guy again. Besides, now he can take things from his green show, and teach kids about green living.
These are just ten of the great shows I admire, and would love to see make a comeback. I wonder if I can write petitions, and get them to air again?
