Top 10 Slow Songs for Prom

These Slow Songs Should Be on Your Prom Playlist

Tiger Cat
These songs are largely based on what will get people on the floor. Some of these songs are songs that if you are in the bathroom when they come on, you should run out so you can hurry and get your date on the floor.
  1. Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers

This melody is unchained and unforgettable. Once I heard this song off an episode of "The Wonder Years" in a dance scene, and this looked like the most romantic song to dance to - ever!!!!!!!!

  1. Don't Want To Miss A Thing - Aerosmith

This is a special song for me. This was the theme of Homecoming my senior year, and I danced to this song with my high school boyfriend. It was one of our last dates before he went into the military, breaking off our three year on/off love you to death relationship.

  1. That's What Friends Are For - Dionne Warwick

This is classic that you do not dance to with your date. This song is where you get into a circle with all of your friends, marvel at how far you've all come, and have that a sentimental "we'll always be together, no matter what" moment.

  1. Open Arms - Journey

This song is ultra romantic, no matter how old it gets.

  1. Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper

"Time after time" this song is romantic, but its still decent to dance to if your date is a guy friend.

  1. Forever Young

This deserves a nod after being featured on the cult hit, "Napoleon Dynamite." This bittersweet ballad just seems to fit a high school dance.

  1. Lady In Red

At every prom there is a girl wearing a red dress, and this song always seems to give at least one of the girls in red such an "ah, I'm so special" moment. Let her have it. You still look fabulous.

  1. A Moment Like This - Kelly Clarkson

"Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this"....You may not have waited a lifetime for prom, but it's still a song that's pretty heavy on the magic stuff.

9. Collide - Howie Day

"You'll finally find... you and I... collide." Another ultra romantic song to come out of the nineties.

10. Have You Ever - Brandy

I danced to this song with my best guy friend at junior prom my senior year (my school was very loose about which classes could go to what proms, junior and senior, despite the names were free for alls). I fell in love with him again that night to this song. He didn't return the feelings, but still this song is ultra romantic.
