Naomi and Wynonna made up the country music sensation, The Judds. They signed onto RCA Records in 1983 and had many songs on Billboard's Hot Country Singles charts. Before Naomi was forced into retirement with hepatitis C, the duo scored seven Academy of Country Music awards, nine Country Music Association awards and five Grammy awards. Give A Little Love is about a woman who could care less about a rich or a good looking man -- she just wants love. "Give A Little Love" won Best Country & Western Vocal Performance - Duo or Group at the Grammy Awards in 1989.
Love Can Build a Bridge contends that love is so powerful, it can conquer anything. Written by John Jarvis, Paul Overstreet and Naomi Judd, the song was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country & Western Vocal Performance - Duo or Group in 1991. In 1992, Love Can Build a Bridge -- one of the top 10 songs by The Judds -- won a Grammy for Best Country & Western Vocal Performance - Duo or Group. It was also nominated for Video of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 1990.
Turn It Loose is a great foot stomping song about enjoying a night of music out on the town. It's from The Judds' 1987 Heartland album.
Rockin' with the Rhythm of the Rain describes a couple sitting on the front porch swinging as the rain hit's the tin roof. The song was released in January of 1985 and was written by Brent Maher and Don Schlitz.
Rompin Stompin' Blues is from the album This Country's Rockin'. It's about a woman who's been wronged in the worst sort of way, and then she goes out to party and forget her troubles. Don Schlitz and Naomi Judd are the songwriters.
Young Love is a song about a girl who has a crush on a boy. They get married and then have a child. Young Love was nominated for Best Country & Western Vocal Performance - Duo or Group at the 1990 Grammy Awards.
One of the top 10 songs by The Judds, Born to Be Blue tells the story of a girl who thinks she'll never find love. Written by Brent Maher, Mack David and Michael Barry Reid, in 1990 this song was nominated for Favorite Single - Country at the American Music Awards.
