Aly Adair
One thing I love about Barack Obama is he never gave up against all odds of winning the 2008 Presidential Election. Barack Obama will fight for the average American and turn around the American economy. Barack Obama will fight for peace in the world and keep American safe. Barack Obama will work across party lines and never have a lame duck Congress. Barack Obama will close the American divide. Here is an MP3 playlist of the top 10 songs to play during the President Barack Obama Inauguration Day on January 20, 2009.

Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)

By Phil Collins

But to wait for you is all I can do, and that's what I've got to face

Take a good look at me now, cause I'll still be standing here

And you coming back to me is against all odds

It's the chance I've gotta take

Dancin' In The Streets

By Martha and The Vandellas

This is an invitation

Across the nation

A chance for the folks to meet

There'll be laughin' and singin' and music swingin'

And dancin' in the streets

The Times They Are A-Changin'

By Bob Dylan

Come gather round people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

Youll be drenched to the bone.

If your time to you

Is worth savin

Then you better start swimmin

Or youll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changin.

A Change Is Gonna Come

By Sam Cooke

There been times that I thought I couldn't last for long

But now I think I'm able to carry on

It's been a long, a long time coming

But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

People Get Ready

By The Impressions

People get ready, there's a train comin'

You don't need no baggage, you just get on board

All you need is faith to hear the diesels hummin'

You don't need no ticket you just thank the lord

Help!

By The Beatles

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round.

Help me, get my feet back on the ground,

Won't you please, please help me?

Bridge Over Troubled Water

By Simon and Garfunkel

When you're down and out

When you're on the street

When evening falls so hard

I will comfort you

I'll take your part

When darkness comes

And pain is all around

Like a bridge over troubled water

I will lay me down

Gimme Shelter

By The Rolling Stones

Oh, a storm is threatning

My very life today

If I dont get some shelter

Oh yeah, Im gonna fade away

War, children, its just a shot away

Its just a shot away

War, children, its just a shot away

Its just a shot away

The Message

By Grandmaster Flash

I tried to get away, but I couldnt get far

Cause the man with the tow-truck repossessed my car

Dont push me, cause Im close to the edge

Im trying not to loose my head

Its like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder

How I keep from going under

Born to Run

By Bruce Springsteen

Baby this town rips the bones from your back

Its a death trap, its a suicide rap

We gotta get out while were young

`cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run

Thank you for your comments, Debbie. I am 53 years old - a Baby Boomer just like you. Life isn't over yet; I'm not waiting for someone to take care of me. I can still vote and so can you.

If all the songs are to be all about what he will do and take us into the future, then why are all the songs about a generation that has passed? I hope you yungins are ready to take care of the baby boomers, it's your turn now. I will be watching and have very high standerds to see how you will take care of us. It's your turn now. What are you going to do with my generation and take care of me. If you don't take care of me, then no one will be there to take care of you, when you get to be me.

Great selection. I will always think Obama's song is Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed and Delivered" because he used it during rallies, and also Aretha Franklin's "Think" "freedom, freedom, freedom..." was often blaring when he walked on stage. I would add "Imagine" by John Lennon, "nothing to kill and die for" and "Give Peace a Chance".
