Top 10 Songs for Valentine's Day

These Are a Must Have on Your Playlist for You Valentine's Day

Debbie H.
I'm not very familiar with many of the new, popular singers today. My car radio is mostly controlled by my eight year old daughter. I'm very familiar with all the young singers on Radio Disney. To tell you the truth many of the songs are very catchy and I find myself singing them at work. If you pay attention to the lyrics, some are actually meant for adult relationships and good for Valentine's Day. Here is my top ten list of love songs for Valentine's Day. You might notice that the songs are either sung by popular teen singers or made in the eighties, my "before child" days.

10. Pretty Woman - Roy Obinson

"I don't believe you, you're not the truth. No one can look as good as you" Those are pretty powerful lyrics and any woman would be happy to hear that from a man. I loved the movie, Pretty Woman, and found myself singing this song for weeks after watching the movie. An oldie, but goodie.

9. I will Always Love You - Whitney Houston

Another oldie, but one that sticks in my head for many years. This song was in the movie, The Bodyguard, and is a very romantic song. A perfect song to play for your loved on one Valentine's Day.

8. Just Like Heaven - The Cure

If you read the lyrics this isn't really a love song, but a very sad story about a boy whose girlfriend died in the ocean. Although, when you listen to the song, it's sounds romantic and you can feel the love between the two. Although it's a little sad, I still think it is a romantic song.

7. Things I'll never say - Avril Lavigne

Do you love someone and he doesn't know how you feel. This might be the perfect song to play for that someone special to let them know how you feel. This song reminds me of how I felt after dating my husband. I was so in love and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

"If I could say what I want to say. I'd say I want to blow you - - - away. Be with you every night. Am I holding you too tight." This song has a couple sexual subliminal messages, but it's a very sexy song. Even if your boyfriend knows how you feel this song will spark those early dating memories.

6. We Belong Together - Mariah Carey

Did you break up with someone and want them back? This is the song to do it with. In this song Mariah realizes she gave away the best thing that happened to her. Tell your Valentine that you want them back with this love song.

5. I Don't Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith

"Don't want to close my eyes, don't want to fall asleep cuz I'd miss you babe, and I don't want to miss a thing" How romantic is that? This song shows deep love and this is one of my favorite songs. This is from the movie Armaggedon. This is a very good song.

4. One in a Million - Hannah Montana

I know what you're thinking, Hannah Montana? but this is actually a very good song. It is about falling in love and finding true love.

3. You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift

This song is cute and good for telling that special someone that they belong with you and no one else.

2. Love Story - Taylor Swift

This is like Romeo and Juliet come alive. It's a truly romantic song about two people in love and finding a way to be together. In the end it almost brings tears when "I talked to your dad go pick out a white dress, it's a love story baby just say yes" It's nice to hear a song with a happy ending and this one has it.

1. Valentine - Martina McBride

I don't know if this song was ever very popular, but it should be. I actually got married on Valentines Day 11 years ago and stumbled across this song. This song was our "first dance" song. It's a great song for Valentine's Day and a great love song. Although Martina McBride is a country singer, this song doesn't sound like a country song.
