Humor is what keeps a family together, often in times when there's not a lot to laugh about. With bad news all around us, it's important to keep laughing together as a family to get through it. In fact, it seems like just yesterday when my oldest son beamed from ear to ear because he "got" his first knock-knock joke.

So, keep your heads high, and keep laughing..

It's often been said that laughter keeps the world spinning.

Here are a few of my favorite, one-line St. Patrick's Day jokes to test on your own kids. Have fun, and keep smiling. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Let's all "go green" not just on this day, but every day of the year.

Quick "Green" tip of the day: Think outside the box, and ditch the wrapping paper, using instead what's already in the house. Cover a child's gift in the Sunday comics or wrap a graduation gift in the classified ads (circle the funniest ads with a red grease pencil). You can also use outdated road maps for a travel lover, or cut pictures from old greeting cards to make fun gift tags. The key is to recycle and reuse.
