Top 10 Superbowl Party Songs

Candice
With all the hype that surrounds the Superbowl you'd think that was the most important day of the year. (And to some it actually is). But for those that just want to enjoy the game and have a great party with their friends, be sure to add these Superbowl party songs to your playlist and really get your party people in the mood for some fun!

10. Hank Williams Jr. - "Are You Ready For Some Football" : from the album; ABC Monday Night Football . Oh, yeah! I had to start the list with the mac daddy of all country football songs, and it definitely needs no explanation. See the Video here.

9. "Get Ready for This": from the album; All Star Jock Jams . Even if you don't recognize this song right off the bat, click the link and check out the sample of this song and you'll know immediately that this is the right one to get your Superbowl party going.

8. Who Let the Dogs Out : from a great album; ESPN Presents Stadium Anthems: Music for the Fans . A classic that is played at every football game or party I've ever been to...just the intensity of the beat alone will get people pumped, and everyone will be barking along.

7. Queen "Another One Bites the Dust"; Queen are party anthem masters, and this one will always get people in the mood for a fabulous Superbowl party.

6. Billy Idol "Mony Mony" : Well now, we couldn't have a Superbowl party song list without Billy Idol now could we? C'mon, sing along now, you know the words...

5. "Tequila" : It's the ultimate Half-time party song, and just in time for shots!

4. "Rock and Roll Part 2" from the album; All Star Jock Jams directly followed by; Start the Commotion : If you are squishing your eyebrows together and scrunching up your nose right now thinking, "what the?" just click the link and have a listen to a sample of these songs and you'll know why they are on this list.

3. Kool & the Gang "Celebration" from the album ; ESPN Presents Stadium Anthems: Music for the Fans . Everyone knows this one and it works like a champ to get people in a great mood, even if your Buffalo Chicken Dip isn't worth its hot sauce.

2. Blitzkrieg Bop from the album ; ESPN Presents Stadium Anthems: Music for the Fans . I love these guys, and the old punk rockers in your group will love you for playing it. Followed by James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)" from; ESPN Presents: Jock Rock, Volume 1 album.

1. Queen "We Will Rock You" : You just can't have a Superbowl party without playing this number one choice for all football games, or any game for that matter. It's the best of the best and as one of AC's own Amanda Brandenberg writes in her superbowl playlist article,
"This song is hands down, one of the greatest pieces for any kind of sporting event. It's easy to sing along to (not to mention stomp your feet). It's upbeat, and it carries a message for your rivals: yes, we will rock you. And if the team you're cheering for wins, try Queen's other fantastic hit: We Are the Champions."

So there you have your Top 10 Superbowl Party Songs. Enjoy your party and don't forget the hot wings and nachos!

Neat list. Number 7 is always appropriate when the Tampa Bay Succanneers are playing! They always find a way to lose....and bite the dust!

Fun list. Glad you included Queen!

Or for those injured during the game - "Don't get around much anymore"

I hate that we can not comment on Health articles, like your last two. And, please allow me to extend warm thanks and gratitude for your message of compassion and love. I never knew my father and my mother dumped me off at the Queens so this family is so special to me. Thanks so much friend. I'll be struggling with this for some time but I know that we will all see her again. You are just too kind to me my friend. Your friendship is just indescribable and I value it so much. I am so thankful to know you and treasure your words of comfort and this message means so much to me my friend...many blessings,

    Jack : - )

My second read and comment here but wanted you to know that since it was a Health article I read Meditation for Chronic Sympathetic Nervous System Arousal and it was wonderful. What a great work. I couldn't leave a comment however.

    Great selections. :-)

  • Martha Fry2/8/2011

Great choices - although I would have put "Are You Ready for Some Football?" higher on the list.

Yes, you nailed it with Hank starting off...that is a football song now, even though it was not intended to be when he wrote it. :-) Go Steelers.
