Top 10+ Things to Be Thankful for This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a day for reflection on the things we are thankful for. It is a day to enjoy food, family, friends and even strangers. What are you thankful for this year, this month, this lifetime?

I am thankful for my family!

They are a unique bunch and quite extended. I'm thankful for each and every one of them. I am thankful for my significant other who is a rock when I need him to be and a mush when necessary. I am thankful for my children who take my breath away every day. I am thankful to my mom because she raised me to be the woman I am and I am proud to be that woman. I am thankful for my brother and sisters for making a joke, having my back or putting me in my place when no one else will. I am thankful for my dad's presence in my life and thankful for my step-dad's guidance.

I am thankful for the food that graces my table.

Without it, we would go hungry. It could be a bowl of oodles and noodles and I would still be thankful because it is a meal that will keep me going yet another day.

I am thankful for my health.

I am a healthy woman. I have beaten a common cold and been untouched by the flu or the swine flu yet many others have not. I am thankful for the health that I have.

I am thankful to the man who asked me for a dollar.

Without him asking, I would not have given. Giving feels good. He will have a dollar to get a hot cup of coffee or a cup of cocoa. He will be indoors for a few minutes to warm up his bones. All because he asked, I am thankful for his request.

I am thankful for realizing my goals and accomplishing them, well most of them.

I am thankful for the sun each morning for without it, how could a new day start?

I am thankful for the moons light which guides me at night.

I am thankful for the trees, flowers and animals which grace my lawn and show me new wonders everyday.

I am thankful for the laughter that echoes through my house when my sons tell each other joke's.

I am thankful for everyday that I get to see my children, touch them, hear them when so many others have families torn apart.

I am thankful for so much that I cannot express it all here. And I am thankful to you, the readers, who make this job worth doing and doing well.
