9. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - http://chocolatefactorymovie.warnerbros.com/ Even with Tim Burton's direction and Johnny Depp's star attraction, this film was rather mediocre. The story dragged and could have used a little bit more action.
8. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339291/Three children whose parents are killed go and live with a distant relative who plots to kill them. Jim Carey stars as Count Olaf. This movie didn't do the series of books any good. I don't believe that the transfer to film format was any justice to the well written stories.
7. Nanny McPhee - http://www.nannymcphee.com/ Nanny McPhee use magic to reign in the seven children who are under her care. Emma Thompson stars as Nanny McPhee. This movie did nothing to keep the interest of my children. The story was way too choppy.
6. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - http://video.movies.go.com/hitchhikersguide/ Minutes before the Earth is destroyed two friends are swept off the plant, one of them is writing a guide to the galaxy. This movie was poorly written and directed. The movie's storyline did not flow seamlessly.
5. Zathura - http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/zathura/ Two brothers are drawn into space after playing a board game. All this movie is a remake of Jumanji using a space theme. There was some exciting scenes but it was an all too familiar plot.
4. Madeline - http://www.madeline.com/ A red headed mischievous little girl and her adventures. The characters in this film didn't deliver. The story could have been better.
3. Eloise At The Plaza - http://www.eloisewebsite.com/eloise_at_the_plaza.html Based on the children's books. Sophia Vassilieva portrayal of Eloise was off point. I believe there could have been a better actress for the role.
2. Kit Kitteredge: An American Girl - http://www.kitkittredge.com/ During the Depression, a young girl helps her mother run a boarding house after her father losses his job. Abigail Breslin has made some better films. I don't think she was up to par on this one. This whole film lacked.
1. Cat In The Hat - http://www.seussville.com/ Based on the children's book from Dr. Seuss. Mike Myers as the cat was terrible. I believe Dr. Seuss would have rolled over in his grave. There was no connection to his books. I was very disappointed. The acting was horrible.

Post a CommentI'd have to agree on Curious George. I really like the books very much. I was extremely disappointed with the film.
