10 - Introduction of C-3P0
Episode I The Phantom Menace
Maybe the original Jar Jar Binks (but not as annoying), C-3PO was a great side kick for R2-D2, but almost every other word out of his mouth came across like nails on a chalkboard. How can one thing complain so much? Of course learning Anakin built the droid was an early strike against the kid.
9 - Ewoks taking out stormtroopers with rocks and clubs
Episode VI Return of the Jedi
So we are suppose to believe these pint sized teddy bears are able to take out the empire's best soldiers, who are armed with blasters and covered with armor, with hand held rocks and clubs? That's like putting on a football helmet and telling your two year old cousin to throw rocks at the side of your head. Nothing will happen.
8 - Luke and Leia kiss
Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
This might not be a bad moment in the series. It actually is kind of funny. But when you stop and think about how they are brother and sister, well that makes it kind of sick.
7 - Anakin accidentally takes out a Federation Ship.
Episode I The Phantom Menace
I know this kid is crawling with mediclorians, and the force is flowing through him, but the fact that Anakin somehow fires off the Naboo space fighter's super powered torpedoes at exactly the right moment just doesn't make much sense to me. Or maybe I just don't like the scene because the acting, in my opinion, is terrible.
6 - Gungan's "Glass ball of Peace?"
Episode I The Phantom Menace
Was I the only one who watched this movie and thought "What the hell is that glass ball suppose to be? I thought it was one of those electrically charged balls that draws a charge when you place your finger on it. I thought for sure it would be explained in the next movie. Wrong.
5 - Boba Fett's 'Death'
Episode VI Return of the Jedi
The coolest character of the original series, Boba Fett was the ultimate bad ass. And yet they decided to give him the lamest death ever. Han accidentally strikes the back of his jet pack which malfunctions, and end the end ultimately sends him to his doom by being slowly digested in the Sarlacc Pit. Of course those of you who read the books know he didn't actually die by blowing himself out of the pic (which almost killed him too).
4 - Anakin and Padme's frolic
Episode II Attack of the Clones
Possibly the most forced scene in the entire series, Anakin and Padme's playful frolic in the grassy lands of Naboo, right in front of a giant waterfall, is just to picturesque and forced, as well as the acting. And does anyone else get a "Sound of Music" feel from the scene?
3 - Darth Maul's Death
Episode I The Phantom Menace
The character, in my opinion, may be the greatest villian in all of Star Wars, and it kills me how little screen time he has. What, like 20 minutes? I'm alright with him actually dying, just not that soon. If it was up to me I'd say get rid of Count Dooku and have Darth Maul survive until Episode III.
2 - Greedo shoots first
Episode IV A New Hope (Special Edition)
Not even in the original release, George and the crew and to go in and add this blunder. Everyone knows Han is the ultimate rebel, and he takes no gruff from no one. Why would he wait for someone to shoot at him? He wouldn't, so he'd shoot first. So if you want to skip this 'worst' moment, just stick to the original Episode I.
1 - Introduction of Jar Jar Binks
Episode I The Phantom Menace
Was there ever really a doubt what would be number one? Not in my mind. I'm still wondering if the sole purpose for this character was to piss off millions of Star Wars fans. If only Qui-Gon Jinn would have let him be run over by the droid ground assault ship. It would have saved us all a lot of grief.
