Moms of the world, for an un-how-to guide, watch these controlling, bumbling moms for bad lessons in motherhood.
Top 10 Worst TV Moms Ever
#10: Roseanne At the time Roseanne the show was funny, at least in the beginning. Her mothering skills left something to bedesired, yet they kind of worked. In retrospect, Roseanne was just not a great mother.
#9: Lucy Ricardo As a comedienne, she's okay. As a TV mother? No way!!
#8: Wilma Flintstone How many times did she leave Pebbles alone with Dino? Where was she? What the heck was she doing?
#7: Judy Jetson was another less-than-stellar TV mom. She even had a robot maid, to boot. Her biggest flaw was her absence. Of course, we can blame Hanna Barbera for that.
#6: Marie Barone if there were a double category for worst mother and worst mother-in-law, she would win by a landslide. Doris Roberts does an outstanding job of being a meddling, in-your-face, overly protective, pain in the a** of a mother, and mother-in-law. She embodieseverything that stinks about a mom or mother-in-law that does not understand the word boundaries.
#5: Bree Van De Camp is a crazy, obsessive mom who loves you way too much. She is one desperate housewife, and a desperate mother. Quick, someone send her back to Stepford for de-programming. And while she's there, have that pole unstuck from her bottom!
#4: Mrs. Castanza Could there be a more grating, or more annoying mother (obviously, yes, because Mrs. Castanza only hits number 3). With this kind of constant nitpicking parent it's amazing her only son, George Castanza never attempted to take his own life.
#3: Peg Bundy had to be the worst fictional TV mom of all time. She was not only bat at motherhood, she was a bad wife, a non-cook, a non-housekeeper, and had no career or ambitions beyond being self-centered and obnoxious. Of course, she fit in great with her TV family.
#2: The Entire Cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County - The women on this show are their own biggest fans. They claim that their main focus is their children, when nothing could be further from the truth, or at least the truth we see on their reality show. They are way more interested in their own vanity and greed than in their children.
#1: New York's Mom The most crass, annoying, loud, manipulative, obnoxious, overbearing and controlling mother to ever be featured on TV? New York's mom on I Love New York and Flavor of Love. Let's just hope she doesn't get her own show.

Post a CommentI disagree. I thought Roseanne was a great mother, her brashness was always balanced out by the love she had for her children. They always came first. She was a REAL mother, June Cleaver and Harriet Nelson were simply not real, and neither were their kids!
I actually thought Roseanne was a great mother. She solved her problems with her kids without spanking them or doing a huge amount of screaming. She was just unconventional.
