Top 10 New Years's Resolutions for a Miamian

New Year's Eve night, usually feels like a new beginning. It's a time to think about New Year's Resolutions, to sing Auld Lang Syne, hug and kiss family and friends and to ring in the New Year.

If you live in Florida and is lucky enough to live in the "Magic City", called Miami, New Year's Eve parties will be plentiful and lots of Champagne will be flowing. As Miamian's we have a lot to be thankful for, beautiful palm trees, with the magnificent royal palms towering high, fabulous beaches, a culturally diverse community, offering a wide variety of arts, entertainment, food, fabulous weather and much more.

In order to sustain the natural beauty and benifits of this Magic City, here are, "The Top10 New Year's Resolutions" recommended
for Miamian's.

M.........Make water conservation our number one New Year's resolution. Water is our second most precious resource, it stands
immediately behind air. Let's make every effort to observe the water restrictions in our areas and use water conservatively in order to combat the
water shortages in our region.

I...........Increase the awareness of our driving habits. We can reduce driving by car-pooling, using public transportation and planning ahead when doing
errands by combining trips efficiently.

A..........An early hurricane preparation plan is a must for Miamian's Top 10 New Year's resolution list. There are lots of information available on the Internet,
the local newspapers, radio and television stations to help us in preparing for an early hurricane plan.

M.........Make an effort to de-clutter our homes, offices and storage places. As we look around the Miami area, a new trend is the significant increase in
buildings primarily for storage. It's a good time to make a resolution to de-clutter, give away to charity, sell and get rid of items we are not using.
De-clutter and allow new energy to flow through our lives for the New Year.

I..........Invest more and spend less, this is a great resolution to add to our New Year's resolution list.

V.........Voice our opinion about buying American products, especially children products. With the recent recalls of toys and other products, a New Year's resolution to buy American products, will be good for jobs, the economy and our safety.

I..........Improve our health through exercise, start a program that will be beneficial and convenient, a 30 minutes to an hour walk daily, using the stairs,
gardening, house work and other daily activities are good means of exercise along with using a gym membership.

C........Control credit card spending and plan to pay off any credit card debts.

E.........Exhibiting awareness regarding environmental issues, is an important resolution to add to our list. Preservation of the quality of air, water, the foods
we eat and the environment in general should be our goal.

S.........Spending more time with family and friends, this is a New Year's resolution that is of very high priority, it is one of the most important
resolution on our list.

As we party the New Year's Eve night away and empty the champagne glasses, let's give some thought, to how we can start to practice the 'Top Ten New Year's
resolution goals recommended for Miamian's
After putting these New Year's resolutions into practice, we will find that they impact us not only in in our private lives, but locally, nationally and globally in a tremendous way.
