This is a dirty dozen, but since we're on the subject of cheat-in (like Mart-in), I'll do a little bit myself by giving you two extree. Enjoy.
14. "Part Time Lovers" by Stevie Wonder - Stevie? Cheat-in? Likely just rounded off his music repertoire. The melody will stick to your brain all day.
13. "Secret Lovers" by Atlantic Starr - "Here we are the two of us together", "if they found out it could mess up both our happy homes." Happy homes? Then why are you cheat-in?
The Dirty Dozen
12. "Thin Line, Between Love and Hate" by the Persuaders - Staying out 'til 5 o'clock in the morning is justification for a beat down. "Bandaged from foot to head" - she beat the stank off homeboy. "The sweetest woman in the world could be the meanest woman in the world if you make her that way." Sho you right.
11. "Creep" by TLC - Some young ladies are smarter than they get credit for. They know what's up. While she knows you're out tipping, she then decides to creep because she needs attention too. Then a couple of years later when you see how fine she still is, you wonder how did you mess that up. Silly rabbit - you got tricked.
10. "Ooh Baby, Baby" by The Miracles - Fools are made every day. He lost a good woman and tried to throw it back at her "you've made mistakes too." Man...you messed up. Now you're hating life with your head down kicking cans down the sidewalk. That's funny!
9. "I Wish" by Carl Thomas - Men have stayed with their wives shattering the hopes of the mistress, now the sister flipped the script by staying with her husband after having a man on the side. Brother man was hurt to the core and wished that he had never met her at all.
8. "Love and Happiness" by Al Green - Al broke it down in layman's terms: "...it's three o'clock in the morning...talkin' 'bout she can make it right." Whether you're throwing a pool party, card party (w/fried catfish), Super Bowl party, or wedding reception this is the cut!
7. "I'm Gonna Miss You in the Morning" by Quincy Jones, featuring Patti Austin and Luther Vandross - A virtually unknown Luther back in 1976 recorded this smooth groove with Queen Patti. The classic 'hit it then split' in the middle of the night is described here. Physical relationships can make you crazy as a Betsy Bug.
6. "As We Lay" by Shirley Murdock - Crossing the line has psychological consequences. "It happened, now we can't turn back the hands of time" now you have to live a lie. And let's be real, you're not thinking about hurting your mate at home while you're out doin-da-do.
5. "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye - Sometimes if you're doing right by somebody you somehow find out things without even trying. That's a good thing. But "it took me by surprise I must say when I found yesterday", "you could have told me yourself that you love someone else." Women can be cowards too.
4. "No Rhyme or Reason" by George Duke featuring Rachelle Ferrell - The inability to let go of the past is an underrated home wrecker. "Let me emphasize that I recognize what I should and should not do. Though I know it's wrong every now and then I phone just to talk to you", "I've got another life cause I luuv my wife but I still want you." Lady, stop answering his phone calls!
3. "Who's Making Love" by Johnny Taylor - Like a convict behind bars giving advice to young hoodlums, he had to learn the hard way that somebody was making love to his old lady while he was out making love. He just got hoodwinked, bamboozled and abused, jacking his head up for life making him a prisoner in his own mind.
2. "(If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" by Luther Ingram - Sounds like old girl put a spell on old boy. Joan Rivers would call her "a little tramp" but he doesn't care, he'd "rather live a wrong doing life." Goodness gracious man, you are hooked.
1. "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billie Paul - "Holding hands making all kinds of plans", the fantasies of cheating. Then the player contradicts things by saying "we can't afford to build our hopes up too high." With a beautiful musical arrangement and picturesque lyrics, the best cheating song and chart topper.
Ronald Isley once sang "you got to love the one you're with", so stop cheat-in people!

Post a CommentGreat list!
MJ, you know there's an old song phase that says "love means never having to say you're sorry", that such a bad take on humility. We live in a world that lacks humility, that's one of the reason why individuals don't have a problem with hurting others.
I love them Steve! It's strange how we disrepect our own selves by cheating. We fool ourselves with "just this one time" and then want to curse the day we were born because of it. And the saddest thing is, the homes can be "happy" and sin still creeps in! I have a friend who loves Steve Harvey's book about why men cheat. He says because they can! That's not a legitimate reason. Men and women cheat becasue they "want" to and are only thinking about themselves! And that's just wrong and unfair to the faithful spouse!
