I have attempted to make my own King Cake from scratch, but to be honest, with the amount of time and work that goes into making these delectable cakes, I find it far easier to pick up a phone and order one!
Here is a listing of places you can order from and have a King Cake shipped right to your front door. Most offer overnight shipping so you know your cake is arriving good and fresh. The average prices will run you between $30 and $50 depending on size and if you are going with a more traditional cake or one with a filling.
If you are brave enough, there are also plenty of places where you can order either king cake mixes or kits. If you are new to the whole concept of King Cakes, I would recommend ordering a completed cake first. At least that way you will know how they are supposed to turn out before attempting to make one on your own.
