During the 80's & 90's into the 2000's, Whitney Houston topped charts, selling numerous records all around the world. Today many of her songs are still favored by many and on iPod play lists across the globe. With a comeback scheduled this year, there will definitely be more hits to add to this list in the near future.

Starting with her first self-titled album in March of 1985, Whitney had a number of hits on the charts including "You Give Good Love" and three consecutive #1 singles, "Saving All My Love for You", "How Will I Know" and "Greatest Love of All".

In June of 1987 she released her follow up album, "Whitney" which gave her the title of being the first female to enter the Billboard Charts at #1. Popular hits like "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", "So Emotional", "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "Didn't We Almost Have It All" were all #1 singles on the charts which gave her seven consecutive #1 singles.

When the album "I'm Your Baby Tonight" an international multi-platinum best-seller was released in November 1990, Whitney proved to the world that she was here to stay with more #1 singles like the title track and "All The Man That I Need" which was just sung this week on American Idol by Chikezie. "My Name is Not Susan" and"Miracle" were also chart toppers that later followed the #1 hits.

Later in November of 1992 Whitney released her first soundtrack album for the movie "The Bodyguard" which she also starred in. The soundtrack was noted the biggest selling motion picture soundtrack album of all time. It was on this album that the hits "I Will Always Love You", "I Have Nothing", "I'm Every Woman" and "Run to You" were born.

Whitney also starred in the movie "Waiting to Exhale" which was her second soundtrack album that gave us the #1 song "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" and "Count On Me" which was a duet with the beautiful Cece Winans. In 1996 the movie the "Preacher's Wife" gave Whitney the opportunity to star opposite Denzel Washington & record a Gospel soundtrack. that included the song "I Believe In You and Me".

In 1998 the album "My Love is your Love" released another #1 single, "Heartbreak Hotel" which featured Faith Evans and Kelly Price.. Later in 2000 she came back with her "Greatest Hits" CD & once again was back on the charts.

The Pop Diva will be back in business in 2008 with a London performance in May. Billionaire philanthropist John Caudwell is said to have offered Whitney $3 Million (US) Dollars to do a one hour performance in London on May 8th. The performance is for a charity event at the Cauldwell Children Legends Ball at London's Battersea Evolution Arena. Whitney follows in the footsteps of the legendary Tina Turner who headlined the popular event last year.

Whitney's performance in London will be part of her announced "comeback" along with other performances and an album scheduled to be released this November. Whitney started her comeback last year with two great performances at the Swarovski Fashion Rocks event at London's Royal Albert Hall in October and the Live and Loud Music Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December.

Many fans are hoping to see more of Whitney this year and can't wait for the new album. Despite the negative press that she has received in the past years, with two successful performances behind her and a big event like this scheduled in May, we may just see the Pop Diva back on top with more hits and additions to the top 20 in 2008.
