The MOTOGP is made up of 17 riders, 10 teams and 18 rounds. With our line up of talent in the 2010 series, the following riders are undisputed for the ones to watch. Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.
Rossi, known as the GOAT (Greatest of all Time) won the 2008 MOTOGP. Casey Stoner won the 2007 championship and is considered Australia's rising star.
Nicky Hayden, who left Honda to join the Ducati Marlboro MOTOGP team, is expected to make a big splash in the 2010 series.
Jorge Lorenzo, a Spanish sensation, won all three categories of MOTOGP Grand Prix. If you can't catch all the races on the line up, the following top three are a must see.
1: USA-July 25, 2010.
The track, constructed in 1957 near Monterey, California is 3.60 miles long and has 11 corners. It's paved road is used for both auto and motorcycle racing.
2: Australia-Oct.17, 2010.
Home to Mick Doohan, this track is 2.76 miles long and has 12 corners.
3: Valencia-Nov.7, 2010.
The track that hosts the last and final race and the winner takes all.
The championship is perhaps most closely followed in Italy and Spain, home of many of the more successful riders early in the 21st century.
The premier class in the early 21st Century seasons was dominated by Italian Valentino Rossi, winner of the 2001-2005 and later the 2008 and 2009 titles. In an effort to beat Valentino's amazing consecutive victories on the 500-cc two-strokes and then the 990-cc four-stroke machines. Other companies signed younger riders on newly-designed 800-cc machines.
With all this collective knowledge of bikes, tracks, sponsors and bios, it all comes down to the most skilled rider, coupled with a smile from Lady Luck. After following the victories and defeats during the season, the final race on November 7th in Valencia, will be the most thrilling to watch where the winner takes all.
