Top 3 Affordable, Stylish and Safe Bicycle Helmets for Girls

When it comes to child safety, it is important to think past dangers in the home or automobile. Bike safety is a huge concern and statistics prove bicycle helmets are one of the number one ways of protecting your child. However, this can pose a dilemma for the parents of some little girls. While a lot of boys think that these items are "cool", a lot of little girls don't. There are ways to get your kids to wear their bike helmet though and the key is in purchasing the right one. Although there are many different kinds on the market and safety comes first, I have picked these particular helmets because they are not only safe and affordable, but your child will be more apt to wear them.

Girls Bike Helmet # 1: Disney Princess

This particular bike helmet is designed specifically for little girls between the ages of 4 and 8. What I like about this helmet is that it also comes with knee or elbow pads, it's adjustable and meets all applicable safety specifications. I actually purchased this item as a gift for another child and she loved it. This helmet also comes with a little extra padding and seems to fit really well. WalMart sells this for under $40 and as of right now, it is no longer available online, only in stores.

Girls Bike Helmet #2: Street Heat

If your daughter is a tween, she will absolutely love this stylish helmet. As a parent, you will love the price! You can purchase this helmet for under $20 at Sim Supply, www.simsupply.com. Although different colors are available, the pink is really cute. This helmet also features a harder exterior, custom fit and adequate ventilation. Keep in mind though; this helmet is not suitable for children under the age of 8.

Girls Bike Helmet # 3: Candy Girl

Another favorite bicycle helmet for older girls is the Candy Girl by Bells. This helmet is a plain black, with the exception to a pink design. It doesn't exactly look cutesy, but it is more fashion friendly than other models available. The fit is supposed to be quite generous too, helping her avoid the dreadful helmet head. This one is a little pricier at www.thefind.com at about $29, plus the cost of shipping.
