Top 3 American Idols Visit Their Hometowns (Video Links)

The Season Nine Top 3 American Idols are all back home today, participating in many events, including radio and television interviews, parades, and celebrating with friends, fans and neighbors.

On My Fox Toledo, Crystal Bowersox talked about how overwhelming being an American Idol contestant can be at times. She said that she has not changed because of all the attention being showered on her, and she's still the same as she was. Responding to a viewer's question about how long will she wear her hair in dreds, she said she is a spontaneous person and will keep them until one day she decides that's it. She said she might like to give them to charity and she also said something about shaving her head to lose the dreds!

Lee DeWyze was on "Good Day" Chicago. He talked about how happy he is to be back in his hometown, Mt. Prospect and Chicago, and about that time with the bagpipes.

Casey James started out a "Good Day" on My Fox Dallas/Fort Worth. They joked with Casey about his love of Star Wars and showed some hilarious altered images with him in various Star Wars roles (yes, Casey with the 'Princess Leia look').

Mother Nature also smiled on Crystal, Lee and Casey, providing clear weather in the upper 60s or low 70s. ('d rather be with any one of them right now. Here in Houston, it's 84 and still climbing.) It might rain across Texas in the late afternoon, but reports are that Casey's concert will take place, rain or shine.

It has also been announced that The Top 3 will be singing songs the American Idol judges pick for them next week.

Ellen DeGeneres chose "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney for Crystal Bowersox.

Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson chose "Daughters" by John Mayer for Casey James.

Simon Cowell chose "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen for Lee Dewyze.

Isn't it a little odd that Simon chose a song that everyone loved when it was performed by Tim Urban earlier in the season? Another contestant that got rave reviews for singing this song was Jason Castro in Season 7.

Whatever, that can't be it, can it? I hope not, but that's all I've seen so far. Hopefully, they also get to pick their own too. There's no denying the duets were great last week (click here) bu with only two shows left, we want to see the contestants get a chance to really sing what they think will help them win.

Yeah, I don't see how they can complain even about each others song choices, but with Simon Cowell ... you never know. I saw Casey James get his tweet on his song on the news and he seemed happy about it, he said -- anybody got a guitar, I can start practicing.

So if the judges are picking the songs, does that mean they'll stop complaining about the contestant's song choices? Just wondering.....

Is it safe to say it's Crystal Bowersox's competition to lose? I too, have a photo of my Princess Leia phase. If anyone wants to see a picture of me with two sticky buns on either side of my head, email me.
