Whether you're a beer chugger, wine connosieur, shot maven, or hard liquor drinker, the right bar with the right atmosphere is pivotal to having a good time. I've accumulated a comprehensive list of top 3 bars in the Dallas, Texas area that will definitely quench your thirst and ensure a good time.

1. Barcadia - Fun, casual, and video games galore!

1917 North Henderson Avenue
Dallas, TX 75206-7319
(214) 821-7300

When I first heard of a bar that had a wide variety of specialty beers and also housed vintage video games, I knew I had to see it for myself. Luckily, it's conveniently located in the thriving Lower Greenville area at the corner of McMillan and Henderson so I had easy access. Score! When you walk into the unopposing bar you pass by their popular covered patio with long wooden benches perfect for large groups. If you're a fan of Ms. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Ski Ball, or Qbert, you will never want to leave. It's great! But, try to get there early because the bar and games get crowded and it's not rare to see a line to play Galaga. If you're already going gaga over this place, there's more. They also boast a fabulous menu that includes gourmet items like fried PBJ sandwiches, falafel, and hummus to bar food favorites like nachos, chicken tenders, and cheese fries. Yum yum! 2. Capitol Pub - Great drinks for work professionals and food for casual weekenders!

2401 North Henderson Avenue
Dallas, TX 75206-6942
(214) 887-9330

If you're looking for a place that's great for happy hour, or a nice evening dinner bar, or a casual yet elegant location for brunch, Capitol Pub has it all. I'll admit, I was a bit intimidated by this bar at first because it seemed a bit too pretentious for me (if you know the historical nature of the area versus the yuppy makeover it's geting now, you'll understand). But, I meet some friends here one sunny Friday afternoon, and it wasn't pretentious at all. It was a nice casual bar with a old-world feel with lots of woody oaks and beers on tap. They also have a to-die for gourmet menu that boasts salads, sandwiches, soups, and specials. Try their turkey and brie sandwich, fish and chips, or hamburger sliders for a tastebud festival. 3. Barley House- Popular and friendly bar that offers live, local music!

5612 Yale Boulevard
Dallas, TX 75206
(214) 824-0306

I'm fortunate enough to work in a building that is directly adjacent to SMU Boulevard which has many little bars that offer many libations to quench your after work thirst. My definite favorite is a little place called Barley House. With it's signature green awning and spacious patio seating, you won't find a better place to unwind and sip on an ice cold Blue Moon. If you have a furry pet, bring them along because this bar is pet-friendly. They also boast pool tables and televisions for the latest sports games. Their menu offers bar favorites like chicken fingers, cheese fries, and quesadillas. On weekends, they host local bands that will keep your hips swaying.
