When it comes to live entertainment, there is no place like Nashville. The downtown is lined with bars, clubs and restaurants, most of them with live entertainment. Every June, country music's biggest stars descend on Nashville for the four-day annual CMA Music Festival. The country singers perform all day and night at various stages set up throughout downtown Nashville. Fans can get up close and personal with their favorite artists.

With so many bars and clubs available, choosing one is not easy. Here are the top 3 bars that I highly recommend.

Wildhorse Saloon

A historic warehouse converted into a 66,000 square foot restaurant, the three-level Wildhorse Saloon is a not only a restaurant and bar, it is also a concert site and TV studio This mega entertainment center is a fun place to hang out, listen to a good band or participate in a line-dancing class. I always bring my out-of-town friends here; they loved the atmosphere and the food. Wildhorse Saloon recently opened a Billiards Room on the third floor; the pool tables are complimentary for all guests.

Season 8 American Idol contestant Danny Gokey is scheduled to appear in concert at Wildhorse Saloon on April 30^th. Check their website for more information on their menu and prices, and upcoming events. The restaurant/club is sometimes closed for private parties. To avoid disappointment, call ahead.

Legend's Corner

Right across from the Sommet Center and around the corner from Ryman's Auditorium, Legend's Corner is the perfect place to stop for a drink. Country's biggest stars have been known to hang out here after performing at Ryman's Auditorium, so you never know which celebrity you are going to run into. There is always a terrific band playing at Legend's Corner no matter what time of day. There is no cover charge; the drinks are reasonably priced and the appetizers and snacks aren't too bad. This watering hole is loved by locals and tourists. On the weekends, it gets pretty crowded.

BB King's Blues Club

You are in Nashville, but you are not in the mood for country music. Now what? Welcome to the BB King's Blues Club, a place with a vibrant bar scene and an atmosphere that is colorful, energetic, fun and entertaining. BB King's Blues Club has four bars and two stages for some fabulous live music. Their restaurant serves up some pretty good Southern food. Just know that this is not a place for a quiet meal. Some ongoing specials include $2 draft beer after 9 p.m., and 50% off appetizers (with a purchase of entree). Check their website for events and cover charge.
