Top 3 Burger Joints in Austin, Texas
Best Burgers in Austin Are at Hills Cafe, Burger Tex, and Hill Bert's Burgers
Some Austin locals do not like sweet buns with their burgers and they don't like Huts Hamburgers, which is usually the Austin burger joint everyone tries first if they have not been to Austin. I think Hut's Hamburgers have great toppings, but Hut's is not the best burger in Austin. Then there is the Casino El Camino Bar and Grill on Sixth Street, dubbed The Burger and Beer Dungeon of Austin. Casino burgers are ¾ pound Angus beef, but sometimes you get a great cooked burger and sometimes you don't. So where do you go to get the best burger in Austin Texas? My Top 3 Burger Joints in Austin Texas are Hill's Café, Burger Tex, and Hill Bert's Burgers.

To find the very best hamburgers in Austin Texas, you need to look past the regular hamburger joints and go to Hill's Café on South Congress. Hill's Café is owned by KVET Radio personality, Bob Cole, and he knows his food! I happen to love chile peppers on my burgers and you can get a Hill's Café burger with grilled serranos or jalapenos. The burger is a half-pound of flame-grilled beef cooked as raw or well-done as you like served on a kolache bun. It costs from $8.95-$9.95 depending on what you want on top, and you can get three extra toppings for an additional $1.69. Be sure to order the Sweet Potato Fries!
It is a plus to eat the best burger in Austin at Hill's Café because they also have great free live music, an outdoor patio, and lots of famous people eating and drinking beer, so you can get some good Star Bumps pics. The live music is Tuesday 7-10 pm and Friday and Saturday 7:00-10:00 pm. Be sure to check out the Hill's Café entertainment line up before you go to the Top Burger Joint in Austin Texas. Hill's Café takes Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

You have not lived until you eat the rather infamous Bulgoki Burger at Burger Tex, one of Austin's best burger joints. If you are not from Austin and you drive by Burger Tex on Airport Blvd., you might think from the appearance that it is a real dive place to eat. BUT - don't let the run down appearance fool you. Burger Tex is one of my Top 3 Burger Joints in Austin because of the best homemade hamburger buns and toppings bar in town. Burger Tex makes fresh Whole Wheat hamburger buns twice a day and serves fresh USDA choice chuck burger patties that are thick and cooked to perfection.
You can get the Bulgoki Burger on a Korean spice scale of 1 to 3, with 3 being the spiciest burger. Bulgoki is pieces of spicy sirloin served like Korean BBQ on your bun. You can also order the regular Burger Tex hamburger that is perfectly cooked, has the greatest toasted bun on Earth, and a toppings bar with anything you could possibly want on your burger. The best burgers in Austin at Burger Tex run from around $5 to $9 each depending on whether you want just the burger or a combo platter. Burger Tex has a pool table and serves beer.

Hill Bert's Burgers is one of Austin's Top 3 hamburger joints, owned by husband and wife team Hilbert and Lucille Maldanado. They are open every day from 10 am to 10 pm and have delivery service and drive-thru service. Hill Bert's will also cater one of the best hamburgers in Austin Texas. When you go into the Hill Bert's Burgers Original, you will see a picture of Walter Cronkite stopping in to eat of one of the Top 3 burger joints in Austin Texas!
I like Hill Bert's quarter pound burger served on a 100% Whole Wheat bun topped with jalapenos and all the regular hamburger toppings. Hill Bert's Burgers cost between $ 3.39 and $5.00 depending on how many burger topping like cheese and bacon that you want added. The owners of Hill Bert's Burgers pride themselves on coining the phrase "fine fast food" because none of the burgers are cooked until you place your order. All the ingredients are fresh and healthy. Hill Bert's Burgers also has awesome homemade Onion Rings and awesome homemade cookies for your guilty pleasure. Hill Bert's Burgers does not accept checks.
