Top 3 Burger Joints in Detroit, Michigan

Candice W.
There are numerous places to get a good burger in Detroit. Some burger restaurants are better than others though. Expand your Detroit dining experience by checking out some of the best places to eat this All American food.

Here are the top three burger joints in Detroit.

Nemo's Bar.

This popular burger spot, Nemo's Bar, serves up juicy tender burgers sure to fulfill your appetite for red meat. The sports bar is one block from the old Tiger Stadium in Corktown. I recommend going to this bar for burgers and drinks if you're a sports fan. They always play sports games on the televisions mounted on the wall. They also have a $3 shuttle that can take you to and from Tigers and Red Wings games.

You can get your hamburger cooked to order on a grilled sesame seed bun. For a little variety I suggest Nemo's special mustard sauce as a tasty topping. I like hot mustards and this sauce has a bit of kick to it. The burgers are pretty juicy so you don't have to worry about them being dry. The staff is friendly and easy to talk to.

The hamburgers at Nemo's Bar are $4 and cheeseburgers are $4.50. Burgers are on the menu all day. The hours are 11 a.m. to 1 .a.m. Monday through Saturday. The Sunday hours vary depending on the sports game that day. Nemo's Bar is at 1384 Michigan in Detroit.

Checker Bar & Grill.

You can get a delicious half-pound burger at Checker Bar & Grill. This establishment first opened in 1955 so they must be doing something right when it comes to the menu. If you order a burger, you can top it with mushrooms, grilled onions or even ham if you choose. I think the burger with ham topping is actually pretty good and would recommend it.

Burger menu prices start at $5.50. This place is the perfect place to stop in for a quick carry out dish. That's because it's the not fanciest of places and the decor is a bit outdated. Stay awhile if you're getting a bite to eat before the Tigers or Lions game. The stadiums are within walking distance.

The hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m every day. Checker Bar & Grill is at 124 Cadillac Square in downtown Detroit.

The Rattlesnake Club.

If you're in the mood for a pricier hamburger, check out the Rattlesnake Club's Angus Beef Rattleburger. This burger is certified Angus beef on a brioche bun. Burger toppings include lettuce, onion and tomato. You can add other specialty toppings, such as bacon, for an additional charge. They offer four sauces on a platter so you can add even more flavor to your burger. The Rattleburger costs $12. Their sea salt fries are pretty good and you can add them as a side order.

I like the Rattlesnake's updated contemporary decor. You can feel comfortable taking your date there to impress him or her. The restaurant lends itself to a romantic setting. The waitstaff is courteous.

The hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday though Thursday, 11:30 a.m to 11 p.m. Fridays and 5 to 11 p.m. Saturdays. The Rattlesnake Club is at 300 River Place in Detroit. I recommend that you be prepared for valet parking as parking is limited.

With these three Detroit burger joints to choose from, you can get a delicious serving of their juicy, tender goodness whenever you like.

I wish they would change that name, The "Rattle Snake Club." That's a turn-off. YOu did a wonderful description of the restaurants.
